After graduating, I attended EKU majoring in nursing. After 5 semesters, I withdrew due to health issues. In the fall of '93 I started the nursing program in Danville and graduated in 1995. I had my first child, Baylen, in April 1995. I started working for Lake Cumberland Home Health in 1996. In 1998 the agency downsized and eventually shut down. I started working at Wesley Drug Co., where I've been ever since. I met my husband, Steve, in 1998 and we were married in March, 2000. In 2001, we had Benjamin. Ella Grayson was stillborn, but still she was born in 2003. She had anencephaly. This was a tremendous loss to us, but God 'held' us through it all. What a testimony!!! We built a house in 2003 and, unfortuantely, are still working on pieces of it today, with the help of Nell and Charlie :) :) :) I hope to live here all of my life. It's funny how we can see things in our children that are exactly like us, but, yet, these things were not taught to them. For example, Benjamin has a math mind just as I did. He is a first grader, has already passed his multiplication and division and is currently working on square roots, WOW, impressive to me anyway. Benjamin is a firecracker, just as I was. Baylen, 7th grader, was just honored with an Eager Leader award, based on his GPA, character and extra-cirricular activity. He's such a sweet and humble child. Believe it or not, I had a soft heart, too. Steve, well, I wouldn't trade him for the world.
I am blessed beyond measure...
