School Story
Get 'er now is the story of when I was nominated for the School Fall Festival during Middle School and had to escort a much taller girl (Guess Who??). When we were lined up to go on the stage Jerry Mulkey turned around to me and said, "I think your class raised the most money and you will have to kiss her?"
Fright ensued...and yes Jerry was correct as I approached the stage.. the announcement was made.. gulp went my throat.. and then I approach my escort and did the best thing I knew to do.... I put the crown on her... as she leaned over and then well....I paused in fright and then all of the sudden out of the crowd of on-lookers I hear the following words......
"Get 'er now" from whom other but my best friend Donovan Cotner.... well I didn't kiss my taller female escort I just kind of backed away.....
I am surprised my uncle that always brings up this story didn't yell the same phrase at my Wedding in Louisiana.....
I told this to Donovan Cotner and he didn't even remember the story...I think age is setting in on all of us : - )
