Bert L. Galiger a lifelong Libertyville resident A graveside service for the family of Bert L. Galiger, 59, will be held at Lakeside Cemetery, Libertyville. A public Celebration of His Life will be held this summer. Born Jan. 15, 1950, in Libertyville, he passed away Wednesday, March 25, 2009, at Advocate Condell Medical Center. Bert was a 1968 graduate of Libertyville High School. He was a former employee of the Galiger Heating and Air Conditioning Corp. and was an Army veteran and member of the Libertyville American Legion Post #329. He was also a member of the North Shore Corvette Club and enjoyed bowling, cooking, golf and gardening. Surviving are his wife, Kathleen "Kitty" Galiger; brothers, Barry (Linda) Galiger of Overland Park, Kan. and Ed Galiger of Lynnwood, Wash.; sisters, Jeanne (Frank) Wellwerts of Woodstock and Mary Meade of Dixon, Ill.; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Bert and Jewell Galiger. Memorial contributions can be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, Attn: Memorial Program, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
