John B. Nader, 71, passed away on Thursday, August 12, 2021 at his home in Barrington, IL. He was born June 23, 1950 in Chicago and raised in Libertyville, IL. He was a former 30-year resident of Palatine, IL and lived in Barrington, IL for the past 20 years. John was the former owner of a gutter installation business and in his later years took great pride in working at estate sales throughout the Chicagoland area.
He loved flying, built and flew his own plane, and was a member of the Experimental Aircraft Association. John was an avid collector of antique glassware and cast iron pans, enjoyed nature, gardening and working outside, taking long drives, shooting pool with friends, and hunting for arrowheads and wild asparagus. He was a voracious reader on a variety of subjects and was passionate about sharing his knowledge in long conversations with many, most of all with his mother. John enjoyed taking his daughters on countless adventures, to flying lessons, airshows and auto races, just to name a few. He loved his family fiercely and made sure he and his girls spent lots of time in the “Naderhood” with their grandparents, aunts, uncles and cousins.
He is survived by his daughters, Heather (Nathan) Mathews and Cherylynne Nader; granddaughters, Adeline and Eloise Mathews; siblings, David (Kathy) Nader, Peter (Ruth) Nader, Mary (Michael) Hoaglin and Gregg (Patty) Nader; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Burl and Rella Jean Nader; brother, James Nader; nephew, Jeffery Nader; and his beloved canine companion of 17 years, Ernie.
