Stephen M. Stone: 64 years old of Antioch, IL passed away unexpectedly after battling cancer on Saturday, January 24, 2015. He was born October 16, 1950 in Fort Ord, CA, the son of the late William and Delores (Bowen) Stone. He had lived in Libertyville, IL, and Lindenhurst, IL before settling in Antioch in 1989. Stephen had started his career as a Mathematics Teacher at Oak Grove School, Libertyville, IL and had worked at Underwriters Labs for 35 years, becoming a manager of the IT Department before retiring in 2007. Stephen enjoyed: hunting, fishing, being outdoors, and playing golf. On June 25, 1977 he married Donna Niemeyer in Chicago, IL.
Survivors include: his wife, Donna of 37 years; four children: Stephen (Megan) Stone of Baton Rouge, LA, Sean Burrell of Carterville, IL, Jeremiah Stone of McHenry, IL, and Dr. Sabrina Stone of Pekin, IL; four grandchildren: Timothy, Emma, Bryce, and Kaydin Stone; a brother William (Joann) Stone of Plymouth, MA; a sister Eileen (Brian) Russo of North Ft. Myers, FL; and many friends.
A Memorial Service is pending. Arrangements were entrusted to the STRANG FUNERAL HOME OF ANTIOCH. In lieu of flowers, donations to The American Cancer Society are appreciated in Stephen’s memory. Please sign the online guest book for Stephen at www.strangfh.com.

Another good soul lost to this world. Still recall the football game where some opposing player tried to 'lay one on Steve' and the player ended up somewhere across the street. Steve, we thought, had hurt his shoulder again because he came off the field with shoulders dipped and shaking. Turns out he was laughing so hard he could hardly run with that famous 'Stoney' speed. Yes, he will be dearly missed and not forgotten.
