Sheila Kay Shaw Stayner
Sheila Kay Shaw Stayner, 52, of Marion, formerly of Lima, died Aug. 20, 2012.
She was born April 18, 1960, in Lima to Richard and Alice Quillen Shaw. She married David Stayner, who survives.
Mrs. Stayner was raised in Lima where she attended school. She was a 1978 graduate of Bath High School and received an associate’s degree from OSU-Lima. She had been an administrative assistant at the North Central Ohio Rehabilitation Center. She and her husband moved to Marion in the early 1980s, where they raised their three beautiful children.
She will forever be remembered for her amazing spirit. She had been blessed with many gifts and she lived them out daily. She was full of encouragement, always seeing the possible in life rather than the impossible. No matter what the hard times might be she always remained positive and continued to smile and knew that laughter truly is the best medicine. She also had the ability to know just the right thing to say in any circumstance and never would make anyone feel judged, but rather lovingly accepting everyone where they were. She was a great storyteller and her pride and joy was to be able to tell stories to her grandson with whom she spent many special times.
She has the assurance of eternal life through her relationship with Jesus. Her faith sustained her in life and now carries her into heaven. She knew that her weakness was made strong in Christ and she always continued to grow in her faith. She attended the Richland Road Church of Christ, Marion, and attended Bible studies at Mt. Vernon Avenue Church of Christ. She enjoyed coffee with friends. She has now gone to be with her Lord. She leaves behind a rich legacy in her family.
Survivors also include three children, Yvonne Stayner, Laurie Stayner and Alex Stayner; her beloved grandson, Hayden Dranschak; four siblings, Sylvia (Dan) Otten, Shelby (Joe Clark) Golden, Randy Shaw and Tony (Linda) Shaw; and several aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.
Services will begin at 11 a.m. Monday at Richland Road Church of Christ, Marion. Minister Russell Howard will officiate. Burial will be in Marion Cemetery.
Friends may call from 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday at Denzer-Farison-Hottinger & Snyder Funeral Home, Marion.
