Memorial Funds Allocation

During the 20 year reunion, the Class of 1989 raised a small amount of the monies via profits from the Pancake and Sausage Breakfast hosted during the 20 year reunion weekend. It was agreed that the money raised would be used to purchase something for LCHS in memory of our deceased classmates.

We solicited classmates via a survey and also the LCHS Administration 5 years ago and received little to no response or input for ideas on what we could purchase for our school in memory of our deceased classmates.

Since then we have revisited ideas with the current administration and are recommending we create a $500 scholarship award for any LCHS student pursuing a trade school after sucessful graduation.  (ie. trade certificate program for a needy student).  We will be working with the high school guidance office to draft the requirements for the scholarship and then have a new community foundation that is being stood up administer the scholarship.  We are posting this survey for the next 10 days to vet this idea.  After that we will proceed with awarding the memorial scholarship at the May 21st 2014 Senior Awards Cermony at LCHS.

We are hoping everyone may be intersted in making this an annual scholarship.  Details on plans to ensure that will be forthcoming.

Please take a moment to vote!

If there is not a significant response to the survey in the next 10 days, the 25 year reunion committee will move forward with the proposal.
