Rediscovering Lincoln East High School
A trip down memory lane
History
Lincoln East was opened in 1967. It became the fourth high school in Lincoln Public Schools. In the past, it has utilized an eight-period schedule, however it currently operates on a seven-period day. It was the newest public high school in Lincoln until the completion of Lincoln Southwest High School 2002. With the adoption of blue and white as school colors, Lincoln East became the first public Lincoln high school without black as one of the primary school colors. Its mascot, Martin The Spartan, was changed into a new blow-up suit during the summer of 2009. A statue of Martin stands in the south entrance.
