Robert Truel Byers, age 71, born to Alberta (Leybold) and William Byers on July 18, 1945 in Lincoln, Nebraska. Died on January 25, 2017 in Lincoln, Nebraska.
Artist, decorator, landscaper, caring brother and friend to many. Robert was a 1963 graduate of Lincoln Southeast High School; attended the University of Nebraska. He previously lived in Chicago, Illinois; Palm Springs, North Hollywood, and Guerneville, California; Bisbee and Tuscon, Arizona. Previously employed by Brandeis, owner of a decorating specialty shop in Lincoln, a landscaping business in Palm Springs, and an art gallery in Bisbee.
Robert loved to paint, care for plants and flowers, loved animals, especially dogs, and enjoyed having coffee with his former classmates. His last art show was during the month of December, 2016, and he was present for the artist's reception on December 2!
Robert is survived by his son, Christian, adopted daughter, Cheri, brother, Richard (Kay), sisters, Charlotte (James) Bourne and Linda Pappas (Gene Oglesby), many nieces, nephews, and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and loving partner, Fred Guzzo.
