I remember knowing him and going home from school with him for a play date...we were into tops and yo-yo's! His folks had a glass business on Legion Hut Road.
Then for several years, his name would be called out in the beginning of the school year, but he must have been in private schools at that time.
He came back to public school with all of us in our 11th year. I once saw him become angry and throw a desk across the room because he did not get the lead in a play...
Aside from that stress, I remember him as a nice guy...
Jeff and I were best friends. He lived just up the road from me and gave me a ride to school every morning. He was so funny. He was late EVERY morning. Somehow he would arrive just in time to gather the infamous pink slips that Lane Kidd would put on the door giving us detention. Jeff would sweet talk the office asst. into giving up our pink slips. We never ever had detention.
As I said Jeff and I were best friends. He was there for me when I had my brain surgery and he and Susan Smith made up the best jokes about my new hairdo...I was bald of course. He made me feel beautiful even though I had no hair on the top of my head and my face was still a bit swollen.
He asked me on a date but it is tough to date your best friend who is more like your brother. He was a darling man and will be forever loved.
