Kim you definetly have a writing talent. I know you don't tell us everything about the get-togethers but what you do share is thrilling just the same. For now I will live vicariously through your words til I randomly show up.
Butch I will keep you in my prayers from now until your mom has recovered, as well as the others whom have been raised up in prayers.
Tammy, I like your P.U.S.H. it sounds great.

Hello All from Saturday night at Cajun's...Yes it was sweltering but the laughter and getting refamiliarized with those present was worth the sweat. I think it's funny that I have been in LR forever and a day and I move away to El Dorado and then find out about the local gang. That's the way it works sometimes. I'll keep a tab on things and would love to do it again. Sorry I didn't make it to the U. Pub...no parking, the traffic was crazy, and mother nature was screaming "FIND A RESTROOM NOW!!!" (All that cranberry juice!!!!) TMI???
hahahahaha

None the less, It was good to get out and be around everyone.

I haven't been keeping up with all that has been going on with our classmates. I'm glad to read that it seems things are looking up for some. I'll keep positive thoughts for everyone.

Keep me posted....

Okay, folks. I have been reading the mornings posts, and thinking about where where might be good for a next outing. Somwhere with ample parking, good air conditioning, and plenty of potties (in the event Bobbi is able to return). Because many of the folks reside in WLR, how about the place under Seki Sui? I can't recall the name of it. is it West End? (I usually go to The Fountain in Hillcrest but it is small and the often parking leaves something to be desired and there is only one ladies room). West End is also near 430 so it would be easy to get to for anyone coming in from Benton/Bryant or Maumelle. Thoughts?

Just as I suspected...I missed a great time saturday nite. Sorry, Kim...got your message in time and was 'ordered' by the teens to go out and do 'grown-up' things for a while.

Getting together with y'all was in the cards til the a/c went out. Since we are house-sitting for my brother while he is deployed, I spent most of the evening on messenger with him trying to figure out how to fix the problem.

It's not fixed yet, but somebody said that ice cold margaritas make hot nites even better...so I'm planning on being in for the next time.

Ms Reves...

Take your medicine because I see a "pub crawl" evening in our near future to scope out a better site for the next Lion's Night Out...and I'm calling first dibs on April's purse when we go.

West End is a great space and location, but the last time I was there it was LOUD and packed with (college age) kids...that's been quite a while ago so it's worth checking out again.

I have a very short list of other possibilities that might rate a look-see as well...and I bet this conversation will generate a few more good suggestions!!

Good morning, all! I just want to thank EVERYONE for their thoughts and prayers as I went through this most recent procedure. I am overcome with emotions . . . .great emotions, and so much thankfulness in my heart that after so many years you guys have all sent your thoughts, prayers and so many emails, phone calls, cards, etc. The surgeon feels the procedure was successful. Now, it will be a wait and see deal, and he says, with time, the pain should subside. YIPPEE!!! Wish I had found this particular doctor a year and a half ago! In all sincerity, Brent and I truly appreciate everyone's show of concern.

Now, our prayers and good thoughts must remain with Brena, Guy and Danielle, Tricia and her family, Butch's Mom and the Marshall Family. If I am missing anyone, please let me know and accept my apologies. Have missed a few days of the Message Forum.

~~Thanks again for everything, y'all. You guys are the BEST! I am so glad you all had a great time getting together Saturday night!!! I am going to make a trip to Little Rock over the weekend of August 22 - 24. Any chances of getting together then? Let me know!

Love,

Amy

Amy, I am glad everything went well with your procedure. I have had a couple of friends who have delt with Mayo and they have been come through with flying colors - I know you will too.
I read over your profile and noted your memories of Mrs. Billingsly's class. It occurs to me that I never told the class that I lived next door to Mrs. B for 9 and 1/2 years in Cammack Village. Yes, really.
When I moved in she still had that same Caddy she drove when we went to McClellan (again - yes, really). It was like living next to your old English teacher because - it was! When I first moved in the friend I bought my house from "introduced" me to her and Bev (Mrs. B) told me not to worry about having boys over because she would not judge me. My friend said "there is nothing like getting a pass to fornicate from your 10th grade english teacher!" I thought I had it made, but it turned out to be a really long 9 and 1/2 years! She had a key to my house (which I never had the nads to ask for) and just came in and checked on my house whenever she thought she should during the day (whether I thought she should or not), she noticed who came and went (and commented on it). Told me what I should or should not do with my yard, my house, my walls, my car, my life, my dog, my hair, my clothes - you name it. I finally had to mive to maintain what little bit of sanity I had left.

Elizabeth - that is a HOOT about Mrs. Billingsley!! Did you ever know Bob and Kim Eubanks? They lived in Cammack and he ran for Mayor of Cammack at one point. Mrs. B was also running for a seat on the council I believe. Anyway, I recall going to Bob and Kim's on election night . . . .Bob won, she didn't. Anyway, it was great fun to see the southern belle running for office in her neighborhood!!! Good times . . ..

08/04/08 01:30 PM #340

Elizabeth Reves

Yes, Bev (as I came to came her) was on the board or something at different times I think. But I did know of the Eubanks, not well, just knew of them really. They knew my friends Chris and Samantha Tanner quite well I believe. Good times is right.
Bev's husband went a bit coo-coo and hit on all the single ladies in the neighborhood (present company included) everytime Bev left the house. It was quite the circus. everytime I went outside the house I had to brace myself to prepare for the eventual "AAALIIIIZZZZZAAABAAATAAATH" (that's the way she said my name. It took her two minutes in that Covington, LA drawl.)

I heard from one of our classmates that Rusty Loftis was buried (and killed) in some sort of trench accident some time ago. Has anyone else heard about this? Please let me know if you have any information so that we can confirm it and send out a class notification. Thanks!

Just an update on Mrs. Billingsley. A friend of mine colors her hair the same color every 2-3 weeks. She is still a hoot too. Just think around late 70 to 80, driving to the beauty shop and getting jet black hair. I wonder what we will all be like when we are that age.

08/04/08 04:30 PM #343

Amy Mitchell

I'm already a fan of a little color, although not jet black!! I just can't bear the thought of going gray quite yet. I remember Pam Baughman and I used to take dark magic markers, pull the grays out and color right down to the root!!! Of course, there weren't that many of them at that point!!!! Love you, Pam, hope I didn't give any secrets away . . . . :)

Do you guys remember some story about Mrs. Billingsly having her car stolen and going and stealing it back? I mean stealing it back HERSELF? Who told me that?
Yes, she still dyes it jet-blue-black. Looks pretty normal as I have never seen it any other color. And she finally bought a new caddy about 7 years back, but still drove the same one from our days until then.
I am sure you girls are just covering up some stray red or blonde hairs that have crept in. No one in this crowd could have grays... What gets me are these crazy boys who pluck and shave their heads!

I am all about the color--not even sure what color my hair is anymore. I keep threating to color Phil's hair too. I tell my students that I am 29! They still believe me too.

Michelle -You know one of my former students is friends with one of your kids.

Oh my Gosh! You guys are too funny! I hope as many people who are available will come out and join us over the weekend of the 23rd! I can't wait!

Michele - If I had as much gray hair as Phill I'd color it!!

Steph - I haven't heard anything about Rusty being involved in an accident. I see his brother at the plumbing supply houses occasionally so I'll try and find out somthing tomorrow.

Who is the student? Tyler had several of the kids who graduated with him go on the Pulaski Tech.
You may end of with some of my former students as your students now! I have been teaching 21 years. I have been teaching 6th grades for about 15 years. Many of them are in college.

Ms. Kim M.,
I don't know if anyone else has asked, but is there any upcoming agendas planned in the near future for getting together at like a Chucky Cheese, Pizza Hut or something like it, when we can bring our children and teenagers. I know, its way to~ hot to use the words, "cook~out" or "picnic" at this time. Yet, anything like this would be nice or am I guessing the class club gatherings are "parent~night~outings"? Which, I would love to come to some time, if I can ever get time off from work! It seems like, you folks have a great time and if anyone ever needs a designated driver, I'm there with a full tank of gas..no charge for this first class taxi~service to any where in the state!
Please, keep me posted and have a great positive and productive week!
Thanks, !Always GinaJeans!
