Just want to say that I have been reading and am keeping y'all in thoughts and prayers.

Some say life's like a box of chocolates
of friendships can be said the same
you search and seek to find the ones
who'll trust and never blame

you pick and choose, doing your best
not knowing what you'll find
looking for ones who'll be there for you
loving, fair, and kind

you hope to find a friend for life
a friendship that will last
someone who'll never look down on you
with memories from the past

some look and wait their whole life long
to find the ones for them
but when life's done they cannot say
I truly have a friend

if you've been blessed to have someone
who'll always be there and true
thank God above and tell that one
how much they mean to you ......

As you all can see Life is short

Garth Brooks said it best in a line of his music.....

"""Tell that someone that you love, just what your thinking of, If tommorrow never comes.""".....

My heart goes out to you girls and your families, we will continue to pray and keep you close in our thoughts. Thank you to all who keeps us informed.

Welcome to those who have chimed in finally instead of just reading. Including myself this week.....bummed out!

John~ You always have the most beautiful and inspiring writings....really, dude.

And what I understand...it's two days and counting until the locals meet again at Cajun's, I think we need to DRINK after this week!!!(And most of you know already I don't drink...but I'll figure out how!) lol........I may need a Desg. Driver - 1/4 of a clas and I'm hammered!!

Right now, all I need is a extra~large cup of coffee and an egg McMuffin, than I'm ready for almost anything!

We need to remember Ms Amy and her family in thoughts and prayers this morning, while she is in surgery at the Mayo Clinic. Even though, like she noted in an earlier response, it's her fourth surgery. Yet, all the fears, tears, aches and pains are still the same before and after each of these surgeries. Than most of all, waiting on the doctor's visit to talk to you!

Mr John, I knew, you could express everyone's emotions and needs better in words, than I ever could! Thanks for coming through for us!

Best to all and know, I'm walking around here, just hanging out in case anyone needs anything! !Always!

Butch don't shoot your hand with the spear gun. You would think that would have been in the owner's manual. When are we going to Ouachita?

We are reading the news from everyone and it's so comforting to see everyone step up with support and kind words. Our family has had several tragedies with sickness and accidents, my heart goes out to you all. It always helped during those times to have so many friends around me through our trials. We love you all...

Kim Hinson Jobe and I went to visit Brena today. Danielle's breathing is better. They are supposed to be slowing taking her off the vent. The doctors were only able to get 60-70% of the tumor--just where it was located. Danielle will have to have further treatments-radiation possibly and maybe more surgery down the road-after she recovers from this.
Many have emailed or asked here about what they can do for Brena and her family. They are staying with Barbara's friend (Brena's Mom)and I think they are eating out a lot. If you would like to get gift certificates from fast food restuarants, I think that would be a big help. One of them leaves to go get food for the other two--Brena, Guy, and Barbara. Contact me by email or phone so we can hook up. Danielle is in ICU so only family can see her. My email direct is mlpickett@yahoo.com or cell 501-231-4308

GOOD NEWS!!!

Just got an email from Mom Mitchell...

Amy is out of surgery and it went very well. They are hopefully optimistic that this will be helpful for her. She is doing fine and will be discharged in a day or two.

I'm sure she will be reporting in as soon as she's feeling better.

Wonderful news Kim!!!
Lots of prayers for Amy and her family right now. Also, many prayers for Brena and her family, Butch's Mom, Tricia and her famiy, and the Marshall family.

David B..what a wonderful message ........our Heavenly Father DOES feel our pain...He is our comforter and strength. He will be there with us through the GOOD times and the BAD. He will never give us more than we can handle.

Everyone keep up the P.U.S.H........Praying Until Something Happens!!! Prayer does work!

I just recieved a little message from Ms Amy; as part of it read:

Amy Mitchell Hargrove:
"I am home from the hospital this afternoon. All went well and hopefully, eventually this doctor says the pain will start going away. I am psyched about that!!!"

Ms Lisa, I couldn't agree more with you!
Robin and Stephanie,
there aren't enough words or feelings to express to you both how blessed, we are to have this forum. You have created to help us, stay in touch and informed about each others lives! Its just amazing how God motivates our talents to help improve others lives!
I am forever grateful to you both!

Hey Everybody! I put a link to myspace with the song 1983 on it. It is a very rough demo. I am going to get one, better quality with someone who can sing. A buddy of mine, Eric Myers is the lead singer for SIXGUN, out of Houston is going to do a better demo. He could do a better demo in his bathroom. But anyway it's there for now with my horrible voice.

This is the first time I've read the forum here, and I'd just like to say I echo the sentiments of those who posted before me regarding the well wishes and prayers for those who are suffering from health issues, or grieving the loss of a loved one.

Last week was really tough for a lot of us, and there was some discussion about postponing our Lion's Night Out, however, we decided that being together for a little while might cheer us all up. It seems to have been the right call.

We were thrilled to see some new faces, and I'm sure they will be joining us regularly now!! There were so many, it's' going to be difficult to report on everyone individually, so this will be a Reader's Digest version...If you want to know what really happens, you are just going to have to show up next time!!

I suffered unmerciful grief from my dear friend Caroline who reminded me every 15 minutes that everyone she contacted showed up, and everyone I contacted didn't show up. So those of you that told me you were coming, and then didn't....shame on you!!! (Especially the blond twin and her classmate husband, and the formerly famous fisherman) I'm gonna need to see hall passes from all of you!!

As should be expected during August in Arkansas, it was Hot Hot Hot, and the AC at Cajun's was either on the blink or just not up to the task. Our group looked like a "minnow pond" convention from all the fanning going on. When we determined that the sunset wasn't going to help the temperature, a vote was taken and we moved to our new favorite spot...Underground Pub, where...

OLD BROADS GET CARDED!!! Yippie!!!

Monica, Caroline and I wished we had taken pictures of the occasion, and we were tickled when they told us we would always be carded there...that alone is worth going back!!

It's usually a bad sign when the Po-Po shows up at your party, but when it's one of our own the party just gets better. I'm pleased to report that our classmate Po-Po is managing just fine and he enjoyed spending time and visiting with everyone...and best of all...no one was arrested!!

The other Steven made an appearance as well, and reported that he's really proud of how well his son is doing. That's some good news we can all use. It was really great to have him with us and I think he was glad he came out, too. I expect him to be a "regular" now!!

I'm sad to report that there was no dancing this time. As hot as it was we just couldn't risk the possibility of a lightning strike (or a heat stroke) that close to so many of our friends. We'll try again next time...which means Andy has 2 more weeks to practice. The good citizens of Memphis and all the visiting Elvises should be on notice!!

A few random observations...She mentioned that her pants might fall off, but (luckily?) Sony kept all of her clothes on....Bobbi surprised all of us (we didn't know she was in town) It was great to see her, you can't be anything but happy around Bobbi.....Ned's wife, Nataleen is so beautiful it's distracting...if she wasn't so darn NICE, we would have to ask him to leave her at home...along with her, we may have to make some of the other spouses "honorary classmates"; Stan's wife, Lorraine, and Caroline's husband, Paul are so much fun I forget they weren't Lions to begin with...What's up with Monica?? She had on long sleeves and still managed to appear cool as a cucumber when everyone else was melting!!

I know you are wondering about T-bone. That girl is going to give me gray hair!!! She went in search of dancing when we parted ways...I don't know if she got to shake her little booty, but I do know that a very early "car check" indicated that her booty was home before the sun came up. Don't ask how I know that...I won't compromise my sources!!

If you were there...you know what I didn't report...If you weren't there...once again, you missed a great time!!!

Thanks for the update, Scoops Mordecai! Sorry I missed it. I was SO looking forward to it. Hopefully by next time the freaking migrane meds will have kicked in so I can experience a headache of the hangover variety. April, be sure and bring that snazzy purse the next time, too. I will help you carry it...

08/03/08 08:01 PM #326

April Hoyle (Weiss)

Liz, you missed another good one, sorry bout the headache, but maybe this will help. I am sure that I will tire of this bag in a couple of weeks, not enough pockets and its all yours, then you can pass it on to Kim. Who, by the way, gives a great teaser description of events. Car check? LOL See ya in Memphis.
On a more serious note, for those of you experiencing a darkness in your life, you are in my thoughts and prayers.
