Love, Love and allow the peace and the glory of God prevail to all! He is the great healer and comforter!!

Let this be the week of celebrating and lifting each other up for his mercy to carry us through the next level of our lives. For he knows the plans he has declared for each one of us to give us hope and a future.

With that...let's move in the spirit of happiness and smiles, laughter and good thoughts.

Let's have fun and enjoy life!! Amen

Love yall, Sonia

Cindy ~ I wasn't aware of your cancer battle. You will be in my prayers as well as Sonia. Thank God for our families and close friends who do see us through the dark times. If anyone wants to talk, please be in touch with me!

Brena and her family are also in my prayers. I've been emailing with Michele Rowe, I mean Pickett! Thank you so much for keeping us informed and updated. I cannot imagine the worry running through Guy and Brena at this time.

Sincerely,

Amy

The surgery lasted over 3 hours. The tumor was benign--thank the Good Lord. I have been so busy with a regional tournament in Bryant, I haven't had any additional updates. I will try to let everyone know any extra info when I get it.

Thank you to everyone for the good thoughts and prayers. I like everyone else, pray the day will come we they can say they have found a cure for all cancer. Its an ugly word, and something I wouldn't wish on my worst enemy.

One thing I will say though, is that having this battle to fight has allowed me to meet some very good people. People that before, I might never have had the opportunity to meet. I honestly believe that god does not give us more than we can handle. Although over the course of the year of my moms battle, I asked my father often would god know when enough was enough? How would he know when I'd had a full cup? For those that knew me in school and knew my family, its one of those ironys that my father was ordained as a baptist minister in 1987. His belief and commitment to the fact that god knew what he was doing, never waivered. I can't say that my faith was as unwaivering at the time. Its taken me some time to get there and the journey has been a series of trials, but I believe I am a better person for having gone through it.

Thoughts and prayers to everyone in need, somehow I know God knows who needs them.

Wow, I have really had to do some reading to catch up on everything. I am feeling heart broken and inspired at the same time.
I am so pleased that we have this forum. While we can't always be there for our old friends, at least this way we can feel like we are doing something by letting each other know our prayers are going out for those in need.
Sorry I missed the last outing. I will keep up better from now on. August 2 is on my calendar. Lightning? Did I miss something?
Gina - I just caught up on the post. 20 years? REALLY? Gosh, I guess so (I would be at 21 this October, thank heaven my sanity returned - I have just recently considered dating again, though not seriously).

where is everyone? I have my students practicing their speeches with each other and I am bored. I am sitting here trying to look like the nazi school teacher who is watching every move they make, but I could truly care less. Is it lunch time yet?
Y'all start talking.

Hello to all,
I have not looked at the forum much but did today and see that many of you are or have been effected by tumors which can be scarey enough and many more with cancer. I lost my Dad to cancer. He has got to be the toughest man I have ever known, his was a very rare form (leave it to my Dad) and he was is in a great deal of pain. He left here in no pain, at peace and with the confidence he was going to be with his Father. So to all of you who are dealing with this I understand and stand with you. Believe, have faith, press on and enjoy every day you have. Be a lover of life and those who are precious to you. My Mom will be having surgery Aug 4th to remove a mass from her abdomen. She is a long term survivor of many breast cancer surgery's herself. Many on her surgery team this time are from my Dads surgery team at UAMS. They are truly remarkable people. On a more positive note Shane Lowry and I (that gorgeous hottie with me at the reunion!) are leaving for Bonaire in October to go diving on some reef. Been whatching shark week alot lol! Mike O. I tried spear fishing this week end and the only thing I shot was my right hand and YES it left a mark! I think I'll try a fork next time Lmao! Mike O. I hope the stuff you and I talked about is smoothing out, you deserve the best my brother! Keith G. I'm still waiting on the "legends" info on where to go in Fla? And what about that alligator hunt? I'm ready but I want to use my Bow and not a gun, and NO wrestling big lizards either! P.S. Nick is doing awesome man you should have seen him at Pevely Mo. It's on youtube under Nick Ivy car cam. Rayburn M. check it out, it aint mud but is dirt bro!

Well, I have to write, you folks missed quite a performance, Saturday night (July 26)! Tony's Elvis Tribute was better than ever at the Rialto in Morrilton, Ar. I didn't think, Tony could top the performance, he made at the Royale theater in Benton, Ar., yet Tony did! My ya~ya sister, Barbara was totally blown away! Ms. April, you thought I was bad..pfft, hehe..you should have seen Barbara! I can't tell you, how many times I was pulling her down from trying to stand on her seat and wave her arms around! As for me, this lady, a younger chic and I were determined to get the shiny, red scarf from Tony's neck by climbing desperately over each other, onto the stage. But, than we pulled back and went to our seats. When beautiful, older lady with an oxygen~bag, slowly came up to the corner of the stage and smiled at Tony..sweetly he sang to her and ever so gently placed the shiny, red scarf around her neck and softly kissed her forehead. Bless her heart, we could feel her glow through out the building! We were having such a great time! Before we knew it, Tony's manager came onto the stage to tell Tony, he was running over the three hour time limit. Tony asked the audience, did we want to him to keep performing, along with the promise everyone would make it to church on time on Sunday morning! Tony's performance went on for about, another forty minutes, with the audience still wanting more. It was fantastic and inspirational, God bless Tony and his family and "Yes Tony, I made it to the church on time"! I can truly only imagine, how totally amazing, Tony's performance will be at the Elvis Competition in August! You will always have my vote Mr Tony! God Bless and Best of Luck, Brother! !Always!

I can't put Tony's pictures in Reunion Photobucket. I'll upload some of the pictures, I shot at his performances in Benton and Morrilton after 6pm tonight. !Always!

Just a quick note . . . I'll be going in to the hospital to have another surgical procedure done this Thursday morning (yep, day after tomorrow). This will be my fourth surgery in the past year and a half. I've had some some real problems due to radiation I took back in 1995 for my cancer. It is interesting that one of the things that saved me has actually caused so many other health and pain issues. This is the Mayo Clinic study I'm participating in and mentioned in my profile. I pray this is going to be the answer for me and I sure hope that if the doctors can learn anything that will help others along the way that it will. Anyway, I just wanted to ask for your prayers as my family and I go through this once more. It is always scary no matter how many times you go through it! Thanks to you guys who have already emailed/called with well wishes . . . you know who you are, and I appreciate and love you so much!

Hope everyone who gets to go to Cajun's this weekend has a great time! Wish I could be there . . .REALLY!

Amy

Amy....you and your family will be in our prayers. As a cancer survivor myself, I took radiation and have experienced some lasting effects. It is ironic that the very thing that is suppose to make us better...ends up causing us other problems. Take care of yourself and know that you have lots of classmates sending prayers up for you and your family.

Butch...prayers going up for your Mom during her surgery.

Amy ... best of luck to you on thursday .. I will say a prayer for you ...

You know whats funny? I was more afraid of chemo than radiation. I've had more pain and discomfort from the radiation that the chemo, which astounds me. Under my right arm looks like I took a blowtorch to it, its so burned and raw. I don't even want to look underneath either .. its amazing how much damage something that is suppose to help you, actually hurts you. I have 4 more treatments to go and can't wait for it be done and over with. I think I am suppose to go back to the oncologist in a month of so.

If anyone would like to see a few of the pictures, I shot of Tony's performance in Benton, AR. and Morrilton, AR. Just go to my profile. I hope you enjoy them as much as I do! Best wishes and have a positive and productive week! Always!

Amy, I believe everyone is praying for you. I know my son, Josh is praying, and you know his story. If there is anything, any us can do even beyond that, just ask. The same would apply to any of our friend's (classmates}. I believe I speak for everyone on this website, when I say we are there for all of you, going through whatever it is you may be going through. There is a lot that goes with battling these sicknesses. There is the emotional end of it, and there is financial for some. It seem's as time goes on the support trail taper's a little. This class has a lot of creative, business minded, and talented people who can help in these time's. If anyone need's something like this send a private message, and these thing's can be worked out. I love all of you and if you need anything just ask, and i'm there. If there are any typo's in this i am sorry, I did not major in english, I majored in "HELP".

Heard from Brena today. Danielle is on a vent due to her lungs. The surgery has affected her swallowing--I don't know to what extent. She is able to move everything and was talking until the vent. Baby girl is doing fine. I am planning to go and visit them tomorrow. They are at UAMS on the 4th floor. I don't know about visiting hours or anything, but in case someone wants to stop by for a short visit.

I have to say, I feel very fortunate to have very good insurance. Being retired military has some benefits at least. For those that have financial difficulties, I pray that things will work out .. there is an answer somewhere out there, its just finding it.

Just checked in. What is going on with Brena's child? You all know my girl, Kathryn, 9, struggles with a brain tumor. Is that what's going on? I also posted that I'm in town because my sister, Karen, died this July 26th unexpected and it was tragic. Her service is Aug. 2 at 10am at Griffin-Leggett on Hwy. 5 in Alexander. Karen struggled with alcohol and the mixture of it and smoking in hotel bed caused a fire which is how she died. It was on the news about the fire at the Knights Inn Hotel. If any of you remember my sister Karen well, I wanted you to know.
Love Tricia and I'll be thinking of you Brena,Amy and all.

Just received this announcement from Tricia. Most of the information is in her post just above this one.

"Dear Friends,

My sister Karen died this July 26th. It was unexpected and tragic. She was only 45 years old. Some of you knew her. I'm in AR for her funeral. The service is Aug. 2nd at 10am-12pm at Griffin-Legget on Hwy 5 in Alexander. For info or condolences, Mom's # is 501-562-2623.
