May your stuffing be tasty
May your turkey be plump,
May your potatoes and gravy
Have never a lump.
May your yams be delicious
And your pies take the prize,
And may your Thanksgiving dinner
Stay off your thighs!

Happy Thanksgiving Everyone!

Several people have asked us to organize flowers for Alan Cozart's funeral on behalf of the McClellan Alumni. If you would like to participate in the group's floral tribute, please contact either Kim Mordecai (501-960-2215) or Gina Martin Eggebrecht (501-590-1915) by phone or FB private message, ASAP. They will be handling the details because Caroline must be out of state on business the first part of the week.

Visitation is at Roller-Drummond funeral home on I-30 Wednesday night from 6-8pm. Funeral is Thursday at noon followed by internment at 1:30 at Pinecrest cemetary on Hwy 5. You may sign the online guestbook at:

McClellan All Alumni & Family Picnic
Date: Saturday, June 5, 2010
Time: 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Location: Willow Springs Water Park

Changes this year: The Picnic Committee is not collecting any funds. To participate, the park entry fee is $2 per non-swimmers and $6 per swimmers. There will be a registration table set up at the pavilion so everyone can receive a name tag.

Lunch will be on your own. The park has the Upper Deck Cafe which has some wonderful lunch choices, there are grills (bring you own charcoal, fluid, etc.) available in the park and of course, you are free to go out to a local eatery and bring it back to the park. Any food items brought into the park cannot be in glass containers.

Other guidelines for participation in the park activities are available at www.willowsprings.net/guidelines. Your attendance and entry fee is your commitment to abide by the guidelines. You will see information on the guidelines page concerning appropriate swimwear and Lou Ann & David Ratliff (MHS Alumni & Park Owners) have told me that cut offs are also appropriate swimwear as the lake has a sand bottom.

Water Activities in which you might wish to participate are volleyball, tetherball, basketball and of course, swimming. (The equipment is available at the park).

Other sports activities: horseshoes, washer games, basketball, volleyball. (The equipment is available at the park).

Non-sports activities: Table games (you need to bring them, if you wish to play), listening to recorded music, alumni or their family entertaining us with music, magic, etc. Just remember this is a family outing and all must be appropriate for small children. Bring any MHS memorabilia you might want to share with others also. And, of course, come to re-connect and visit with old friends.

Suggested items you might like to bring with you: (1) High School Memorabilia, (2) Lawn Chairs or Blankets; (3) Sunscreen; (4) Insect Repellant; (5) Air Mattress; (6) Camera; (7) Note pad for jotting down addresses of friends; (8) change of clothes if you plan to swim; (9) table games; (10) cooler with water or soft drinks; (11) grilling tools; and (12) money for park entry fee and for lunch.

If you plan to attend the picnic, we need you to do the following three things: (1) let us know you are coming and how many will be with you; (2) spread the word to all your friends who attended MHS from pre-McClellan (former Mabelvale High) to the 2010 class ~~ Don’t worry if someone else sends them a message, let them know you want to see them and visit with them; and (3) if you need directions, let us know and we will provide that information to you personally.

Look forward to seeing LOTS and LOTS of MHS Alumni and their families on June 5, 2010, 10 a.m. at Willow Springs Water Park.

Questions can be sent to Judy Brummett, jkbrummett@aol.com or on her Facebook Page.

Today  I had that a teary moment and yet a happy moment. I know all of you moms and dads have had these, when your child graduates from highschool or College.  Today my oldest graduated highschool and it brought back our graduation and all those fond memories.  Now I see it from a parents prospective. A bit of pride and some relief.  I know I still have to worry about him going his own way and letting go. The many adventures of parenting. I know some of you have been through this many times and my hat is off to you for these accomplishments.  I saw some of you today. Congrats to the Cindy and Kevin on their childs completion of highschool and to any others out there who have graduates whether it be from highschool or college.

I also am saying belated Happy Birthday wishes to all of those with birthdays in Janurary, February, March, April and May. I have been lax at sending birthday wishes.

My prayers are with all those families, who have lost men and women in military service and for the safety of those still serving in harms way , today.

My prayers go out to the Yazza family.

LNO - Lions Night Out- June

Saturday, June 26, 2010
7:30 p.m.
Salut' Bistro
1501 North University Avenue
Little Rock, AR

Join us for a return to Salut' Bistro (where they don't close till 5 am) for a very special LNO. The class of 1985 will meet at LNO for their Saturday night activity and the class of 1980 will be joining us for an after-party following their dinner. This is a great opportunity to see "out of towners" and for the reunion kids to visit with classmates that graduated before and after them!!

Salut' Bistro has an excellent dinner menu and they appreciate reservations, but they are not required. If you want to come early and have dinner...it's a great choice. They also have a late night menu of creative appetizers and snacks if you prefer something a little lighter. If you are planning to have dinner there... please call for reservations and indicate that you are with our group. If you decide at the last minute... come on anyway...but don't be mad if they run out of shrimp & grits!!

See you at Salut' Bistro, June 26th!!!!
