We were featured on one of the Cleveland tv stations last Friday evening. That will help you catch up with me a little.

They used as us as theirmain "tease" throughout the broadcast. They promoted the segment a couple
of times and then they ran the story. You can read the transcript and see
the video by going here

http://www.newsnet5.com/family/15857765/detail.html

The video is in a little picture screen just to the right of the transcript.
It runs a brief commercial for about 10-15 seconds and then the interview is
done. Incidentally, channel 5 loved our promo video and used most of the
images that you see from that promo video. All of the people are Gateway
attendees. You will even get to see Josiah as I am holding him.

Hey Alex, since you live in Cleveland do you ever get a chance to see the Cavaliers play? My son and I love to watch LeBron play basketball, he's awesome!

Alex:

That was an awesome video. I hope that it will catch some new people's attention and that it allows some new visitors to emerge.

DID YOU FEEL IT?

The quake just before 4:37 a.m. was centered 6 miles from West Salem, Ill., and 66 miles from Evansville, Ind. It awakened people in neighboring Indiana and even Milwaukee, Wis., 350 miles north of the epicenter.

WOW ~ I have lived in California and other earthquake prone areas but have NEVER felt one like this one. It wasn't what they call a big one (only 5.4 on the richter scale) BUT I will never forget it.

I was actually checking e-mail when it happend and it made my laptop screen wobble, knocked over an empty coke bottle, rattled the cabinets/dishes/windows. I woke my husband because I actually thought someone had possibly hit our mobile home with a car or something.

Hope everyone is safe. Have a great day! Jen

jen,
that thing woke me up! i thought someone was trying to break in because the french door was rattling! the whole house swayed and stuff shook. brian said he didn't feel because he was driving home but the one at 11 a.m. woke him up! i've lived through tornadoes, hurricanes and now my first earthquake. we are getting earthquake insurance as soon as the fault line settles again! hope you have a great weekend. my daughter and i are walking in race for the cure in indy this a.m. her grandmother (brian's mom) is a survivor and one of the girls i work with is currently being treated. hope everyone has a great weekend.
cheers!

Johnnette Redd Sayre had this posted on myspace.com ~ I couldn't resist.......thanks jojo

**Growing up in Arkansas

You know you're from Arkansas if:

1.

'How 'bout them Hogs' is a common phrase around
your house.

2. Everyone you know has been on a 'Float Trip.

'

3.

'Vacation' means driving to Hot Springs or maybe
even Branson.

4.

You've seen all the biggest bands ten years AFTER
they were popular.

5. You measure distance in minutes rather than miles.

For example, 'Well, Conway 's only 20 minutes away.

'

6. Up North to you means Missouri .

7.

The phrase 'I'm going to the Lake this weekend'
only means one thing.

8. You know several people who have hit a deer.

9. Your school classes were canceled because of cold.

10. Your school classes were canceled because of heat.

11.

You instinctively ask someone you've just met,
'What High School did you go to?'

12.

You've had to switch from 'heat' to 'A/C' in the
same day.

13.

You think ethanol makes your truck 'run a lot
better.

'

14. You see people wear bib overalls at funerals.

16.

You see a car running in the parking lot at the
store with no one in it, no matter what time of the
year.

17.

You know in your heart that Arkansas can beat
Texas in football.

18.

You end your sentences with an unnecessary
preposition.

Example: 'Where's my coat at?'

19.

All the festivals across the state are named after
a fruit, vegetable, animal or grain.

20.

You install security lights on your house and
garage and leave both unlocked.

21.

You think of the major four food groups as beef,
pork, catfish, and Sweet Tea.

22.

You carry jumper cables in your car and know that
everyone else should.

23. You went to skating parties as a kid.

24.

You only own four spices: salt, pepper, ranch and
ketchup.

25. You eat dinner at noon and supper at night.

26.

The local paper covers national and international
headlines in one column, but requires six pages for
sports.

27.

You think I-40 is spelled and pronounced 'ah
fahty.

'

28.

You'll pay for your kids way through college
unless they want to go to UT.

29.

You think that 'deer season' is a National
Holiday .

30.

You know that you can't get anywhere without going
through Little Rock first.

31.

You can't think of anything better than sitting on
the porch in the middle of the summer during a
thunderstorm.

32.

You know what time to be home for curfew -- not
because of the law, but because of the mosquitos!

33.

You've said, 'It's not the heat, it's the
humidity.

'

34.

You know all four seasons: Almost Summer, Summer,
Still Summer, and Football.

35.

You know if another Arkansan is from the Ozarks,
Northern, Central, or Southern part of AR as soon as
they open their mouth.

36.

You failed World Geography in school because you
thought Paris , London , Bismark & Nashville were cities
in Arkansas (& they are)!

37.

You think a traffic jam is ten cars waiting to
pass a tractor.

38. You know what 'Wooooo Pig Sooie ' means.

Hello ~

If you have not RSVPd for the reunion, please do so ASAP! Even if you are not attending we would like to know where we REALLY stand with head counts and such.

We know that everyone is very busy and may not think about RSVPing so we just wanted to give you a quick reminder!

We still have 245 classmates that are unaccounted for!

If you are still in contact with any classmates please ask them to fill out their profile on this website so we can "get in touch".

If you know classmates that don't have computer access ask them if you can fill out their profile for them and let us know they need to receive info via postal mail (we are mailing things out in the next 2 weeks).

If you are in touch with Class of 89' members please have them contact Steve or I (traditionally they are the ones who would "work" our reunion). Or if you have siblings that would be interested in doing things like check in, greeting etc at the reunion please get in touch with Steve Longo or myself.

Don't forget that the Picnic at Pinnacle is a free event and we are counting on ALL of you to "pitch in" with donations of food, drinks etc. Let us know what you can or will be able to donate!!

We hope everyone has a great day and that we get to chat will all of you soon! Keep in touch and let us know what is going on and how you are doing! Jen and Steve

Hey Laura,

Sorry I haven't responded. Been away on vacation.

Yes. We have tickets to games and get to watch LeBron play. The other night, a guy I know took Shari and I. We normally sit up in the upper portion of the arena. We arrived and people were taking our coats from us and showing us to our seats and I was like "Uhm...They don't do this for us in the upper seating area!"

We looked down at our tickets and they were $300 a piece. Sat in box seats right behind the backboard. It's amazing how big LeBron really is compared with the other guys. He's a legit 6'9 and 260. Pretty amazing...especially how young he is.

Laura Mathews (Henry)

Hey Alex, how AWESOME for you and your wife. I can think of no one more deserving of such a wonderful blessing. I was able to see Lebron play when the Cavs played the Mavs in Dallas two days after Christmas (perfect Christmas gift from my husband). Now I hate to see my Mavs lose..... and they did, but he made quite a statement w/ his game ending slam dunk. I think everyone in the arena was in awe!! (my son always says we should move to either Dallas or Cleveland...... he's a huge fan of both teams). It sounds like you and your wife have a very special ministry in that area. May God bless you both!!

Hello Classmates

Our Cookout is looking great. Scott Nalley has stepped up to help out. We are now looking for drinks. If you work for a drink company or know someone who can help, please contact me or Jen. We will need drinks for 100 and ICE.

If you can secure freebies and give away stuff we need to hear from you.

Hey Lions! I need your help!

I had a wild hair this morning and posted on my studio blog that I would offer free guitar lessons to Hillary, Barack and John in order to help me decide who to vote for!

Yes, all you nader fans and ron paul fans, I offered to them too! But no Ross Perot this election!

So, hit the blog at http://blog.littlerockjams.com and if you like what you read, digg it, stumble it, post it to your myspace page, etc. Anything that will help get word to the campaign staff!

Thanks!

BIG DITTO on what Steve posted. Also a big shout out to Steve Duvall for stepping up for the picnic as well.

Now is when we need to hear from all of you that have held your hand up and said "I can help with donations or getting food items or printing etc". (Except Wendy who has stayed in touch....thanks :) )

If any of you have local media connections (Barbara Abbott????) please let me or Steve know. I am blasting our announcement in the next couple of days!!!

We have already started working on our presentation (thanks Scott Dickson).....ANY of you that have videos, pics, music, ANY item for the presentation please let me or Steve know right away. Scott has requested those items come his way ASAP. If you have the items in a electronic/digital format and a hi-speed internet connection then Scott will be happy to receive them via the puter! Just contact me for his addy!

For all of you that have "stuff" like uniforms, megaphones, pompoms, newspaper articles, spirit ribbons, programs from events, pics etc........we can accept any item that has been scanned at any time.......for items that we want displayed please make arrangements with Steve or I in the next week as to how we are getting them to the reunion (are you carrying with you? are you shipping?). If you will be bringing the items with you please let Steve or I know soon so we can be sure to have a place to display them for all to see!

Watch for BIG announcements in the next couple of weeks!

ALSO ~ We still have over 200 classmates unaccounted for. Please scan the profile listing for classmates that you are still in touch with that have not filled out their profile and give them a call!!! We can fill out their information for them if they will just let us know!
