Ha--Ms. Jones. She hated me. She gave me a '5.' in conduct for sleeping in her class... the nerve of me to sleep right beside her desk! Somehow, I managed to make an 'A' though. Go figure. I'm evidence that whole sleeping and learning thing DOES work.

Then again, I also slept in Ms. Keady's Calculus class, and that almost didn't work out so well! Of course, it probably would have helped if I had completed my homework. I had an 'F' with two weeks left in the quarter once since I hadn't completed my homework, and somehow I talked her into letting me catch up for a loss of a letter grade. To this day I have Stacee Dover to thank for loaning me several weeks of homework to copy.

But let's get back to English...

We really had some great English teachers, didn't we? I had "The Ragin' Cajun" in the 10th grade, and I can assure you that was NOT coffee in her cup. I sat right next to her desk, too. I'm not sure how this happened. Was it an alphabetical order thing, or did they hear about me from junior high and place me next to every teacher to keep an eye on me? I really can't remember.

And Ms. Blakney in the 12th grade... I remember we were sitting in her class one day and suddenly there was this telephone ringing sound. She calmy reached over, opened her bottom desk drawer, pulled out a phone, and answered, "Blakney, 'B' Wing." WTF? I also remember her omnipresent red pen, which she used at least once in every paper to point out that I had once again made up a word. She was right. I DID make up words. After she caught me on a couple of early papers, I made an effort to make up one word in every paper, and she obviously made an effort to find it. I also remember writing a paper about Socrates and his search for truth. I couldn't find one more good quote, so I just made one up (plus an obscure reference for it). She circled it and wrote a note in her red pen: "Interesting! That's an excellent quote. This is the first time I've heard it!" :/

Please pray for all the families that are being affected by the flooding in Central Indiana. Numerous counties are under a state of emergency. Most of the flooding is between Wendy Watts (Indianapolis) and Me (North Vernon) but is affecting many hospitals (flooded basements patients being tranferred to area hospitals) and major roads. Thank you.

Good Morning Everyone,

A few business items to take care of this morning. If you have ordered a t-shirt but have not paid you must send your money today or tomorrow. Send me a quick message to let me know you paid so that I can pay the printer for the shirts.

We are still in need of some items but will let you all know about those later this afternoon (we are still figuring out exactly what is needed).

Have a great morning. Jen

They are $10/ea or 2 or more for $7/ea. All money for t-shirts must be in by the 18th no exceptions (sorry).

Here is what they look like if you are just joining us or missed the previous announcement:

Cook out notice...
We will have lunch, but we need YOU to bring some dessert. No item is too small. May I suggest some items, watermelon, cookies, Little Debbie snacks and homemade items?

I wanted to say how much I have enjoyed reconnecting with you guys. The web site was a small gesture on my part, but it has had far reaching consequences. Who knew that our class had spread so far? I can’t wait to see you soon. The rest of you guys stay in contact and we will post many pictures.

Can I get an amen? A yyiippee or anything? Where is everyone? WAKE UP!!!

As many of you know we have had terrible floods in Indiana. Until yesterday my hubby was not going to be able to accompany me because a local hospital is closed for 6 months and all patients have been diverted to where my hubby works. But GOD has blessed us once again and we are able to come to the reunion but will only be in town for 4 days instead of 10.

We are so excited and look forward to seeing you all. Let's stir it up. Get to talking. Somebody must have something to say!!! Jen

jen,
honey, i'd leave here today and drive down if i didn't think my supervisor would write me up! work sucks as usual for a friday and with a call in, it's worse. today is my hubby's b-day so i came in at an ungodly hour hoping to get finished early. needless to say, that's not going to happen. all i have sustaining me is that i will be going to a 3 day party in little rock. have a great weekend.
cheers!
