GULF SHORES - Jerry Michael Spears of Gulf Shores died Sunday, Nov. 24, 2000, at the Methodist Hospital in Houston. He was 48 years old. Spears was employed by Baker Hughes as a directional driller. He was a 1970 graduate of "Ole Main" High School in North Little Rock, Ark. Spears produced, wrote and sang his own music. Survivors include his wife, Gayla Johnson Spears; his mother, Franz Spears-Horton; and his brother, Ronnie Spears. A funeral service was held Nov. 29 in Guy, Ark., at the Copperas Springs Cemetery. Roller McNutt Funeral Home of Conway, Ark., handled arrangements.
