Michael Halasy

Working as a physician assistant at Mayo Clinic. Practicing in Emergency Medicine, writing, publishing, teaching, and speaking at national meetings along with clinical practice. Also, functioning as the sole PA appointed to, and representing all PA's and NP's with the Mayo Clinic Health Policy Center (A heavyweight in the health policy arena). Nominated to another leadership role with the our national academy. In the process of finishing my doctoral degree with an emphasis in health policy work, and organizational leadership. Involved in health policy/committee work at the institutional, state, and national levels. Also training for and competing in triathlon and cycling events. After HS, I was an econ major at U of Akron, and then joined the Navy in time for the first party in the sandbox over there. Got out, started back in school, and was supporting myself by various bartending gigs, and also playing with a heavy metal band. Crazy times.....How the hell I ended up where I am now is beyond me. Hoping to attend reunion, however, I just learned that I may have to be in DC with Baucus and Orzag, among others for a health policy summit that same weekend.

Playing Soccer and Tennis. Going skiing with Andy T in his blue camaro.....the quietness of the school in the evenings after practice....the unbelievably ANNOYING cowbells that would ring during the middle of your serve when playing tennis...never failed. I remember playing a lot of guitar, and drinking a LOT.
