Van Kimo Kotter died at his home Jan. 31, 2007. 
He was born April 18, 1950, in Emmett, Idaho, to Joyce and Cleon Kotter. He married the woman of his dreams and best friend, Alice Zollinger on Dec. 12, 1974, in the Logan LDS temple. 

Van grew up in Logan, Utah, graduating from Logan High School where he received a distinguished Bauch & Lomb Science Award and received a scholarship to Utah State University, where he graduated with a B.S. in Business. 

He served in the Northern California LDS Mission. He loved his opportunities to serve with youth groups and scouts and had many church leadership opportunities. He will be dearly missed and loved by all who knew him. 

He is survived by his wife, Alice Kotter; and four children, Chris (Sarah), Kate (Justin) Hardman, Karen (Matthew) Layton and Quinn; eight grandchildren; five brothers, Rod, Rich, Quade, Dirk, Bart; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by an infant son, Curt. 

Funeral Services will be held Monday, Feb. 5, at 10 a.m. at the Country Park 5th Ward chapel, 1988 W. 11400 South. Friends and Family may call from 5 to 7 p.m. Sunday at Jenkins-Soffe South Valley, 1007 W. South Jordan Parkway (10600 South) and one hour prior to services at the church. Interment will be at Providence City Cemetery.
