Connie Wheeler

April 8, 1950 - December 27, 2006

 

Connie Lou Wheeler, 56, of Bountiful Utah, passed away December 27, 2006, of an aortic aneurysm at the home of her father and step mother in Logan.

Connie was born April 8, 1950 in Logan, Utah to Van and Mary Lou Tingey Wheeler. She graduated from Logan High in 1968, and received her degree in Business and Elementary Education from Utah State University. She spent most of her teaching years helping children with learning disabilities in the Bountiful area. She was teaching at Wasatch Elementary in Clearfield, Utah at the time of her death. Because Connie never married, her students became a major focus in her life. She was very devoted and never wanted to miss a day with them.

Her 15 nieces and nephews were especially dear to her heart. With Connie's great capacity for love and compassion, she touched so many lives and will be dearly missed.

She is survived by her father, Van Wheeler, three sisters and one brother; Shaun (Larry) Hogge, Jolynn (Jon) Anderson, Kathryn Schenavar, and Steven (Kris) Wheeler. She is also survived by her step-mother, Lorene Johnson Wheeler, two step-sisters and three step-brothers. LuDean (John) Watterson, Brent (Sara) Johnson, Connie (Dave) Purser, Chris (DeeDee) Johnson, and Alan (Taya) Johnson. She was preceded in death by her mother Mary Lou Tingey Wheeler and her brother in law, Scott Schenavar.

Connie was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served a mission on Temple Square in Salt Lake City Utah as a tour guide. She also volunteered at the LDS Church Office Building for many years. She served in the Relief Society, Primary, taught Gospel Doctrine classes and had various other callings.

Funeral Services will be held at noon on Wednesday January 3rd, at Allen Hall Mortuary, 34 East Center, Logan, with a viewing prior to the service from 10:00 to 11:30 a.m. A viewing will also be held Tuesday, January 2, from 6 to 8 pm. at the Bountiful 7th ward building, 1250 South Main in Bountiful, Utah. Interment will be in the Logan Cemetery.
