Retired from educational instruction after 38 years. I've been in education since graduation. Working with USU student teachers. Stephanie and I are chasing our children all over the US (New York City, Chicago, Scottsdale, and Salt Lake City. At present, we have 8 grand children who are a delight and melt our hearts.

Stephanie and I enjoy our travels to Arizona and look forward to adding Chicago and New York City after this Covid-19 nightmare reduces.

I'll never forget the wood shop class where we made bows and arrows (crossbows were an option but we all chose regular bows - imagine this class today?!!). We tested our new bows, fresh out of the mold, by making crude arrows out of warped wood, standing out on the landing outside the wood shop, and firing the arrows out on to the football field (up and over the tall trees at the north end of the field). We never thought our arrows would go as far as they did but we noticed that Coach Ryan's PE class was out on the field doing exercises and our arrows were landing around the students out on the football field. One of the PE students alerted Coach Ryan and pointed up at us on our perch outside the wood shop. We scurried into the wood shop hoping that we wouldn't be discovered. The next day, we got the lecture of our lives from our teacher, Mr. Christensen. What possessed us to fire those arrows out onto the football field with students exercising is beyond me!! We were most fortunate that no one was hit by our warped pieces of wood. I still cringe thinking about how stupid we were!!
