BEVERLY BEGHTOL was my best friend from kindergarten through the 7th grade.  She was the sweetest friend a girl could have.  Bev had to deal with two rough house brothers.  So at times she could hold her own, but she was always shy and quiet.  Most people did not know she had a hearing problem, and I do not know if it was even diagnosed until high school.  She was a horse crazy girl and plastic ponies lined the shelves of her room.  She (and I) used to go over to Spiller's Stables on Saturdays to ride horses in a group.  We were inseperable.  She was a true friend.

As we matured our circle of friends enlarged and we slowly went our seperate ways. Later in life I was in contact with her again when she was married. Then I moved to Oregon and we lost contact.

I received a letter from her sister-in-law telling me of her death.  The letter was vague and only stated that Beverly was so lonely and had died  of a heart attack (as I recall) at only 50 years of age.  I was so sad.  If I had only known of her lonliness..............

Goodby sweet Beverly.  I will never forget our wonderful and fun times as little girls. Nothing could replace the times I had with you all those years.
