I first met Sam at Millikan. We were both on the Swimming and Water Polo teams. He was the biggest guy on the team and a bunch of us spent lots of weekends hanging out getting into mischief. Sam was always outspoken and had a knack for writing. We both went to LBCC and then i went into the service. I didn't see Sam again until right after the turn of the Century when I read an article in the newspaper about Sam and Howard Omdahl. They were trying to develop a racetrack west of March AFB in Riverside County. We visited each other several times. He owned a house in Peris, CA and his dad was living with him. He told me he had owned a public relations and advertisement company in Vancouver, Canada with his wife but sold out to her when they got divorced and he moved back to CA. He had no children but did have an older sister. The last time I saw Sam was about a year before he died. My wife and I had him over for dinner with several other friends. He was still writing articles; mostly about automotive racing. His dad had died a couple of year earlier.
