Kristine K Drake, EdD. will be remembered by family and friends for her love of life and dedication to the students of the Palm Springs Unified School District. She was born on January 13, 1948 in Long Beach, California to Paul and Rita Faye Barrus. She died unexpectedly, at the age of 66, from natural causes on Monday, September 22, 2014 in Palm Springs, CA.Throughout her 31 year professional career Kris was known for her love of computer learning and earned her doctoral degree in Educational Technology from Pepperdine University. After retiring she continued to impact children as a classroom volunteer, tutoring students in reading and computer literacy. She loved being Auntie Kris to her niece, Shannon Bagley (Kyle) of Lake Elsinore, CA and nephews Jefferson Barrus (Melanie), Brian and Bradley Barrus of Seal Beach, CA and Joshua Haberman of Long Beach, CA. She is also survived by one brother, Jerry Barrus (Chel) and one sister Ann Marie Haberman (Jeff) also of Long Beach.
