From San Diego Union Tribune, Sunday OCT 11, 2020 p.E11: Veteran local actor Hollingsworth mourned. 
Ed Hollingsworth, a veteran actor and drama teacher who performed for nearly 40 years in San Diego 
theater productions, passed away Oct. 2 following a 26-month battle with a gastrointestinal stromal 
tumor.

Hollingsworth, a La Mesa resident, taught theater for 21 years at Grossmont High School in La Mesa, 
and he directed more than 70 plays and musicals. He was also a prolific performer who appeared over 
the years onstage with (a dozen prominent San Diego County Theatres and Opera Companies). He also 
performed in virtually every state in America. His widow, playwright Marian Blair Hollingsworth, 
said she and their four children are planning a memorial, either in person or on Zoom, at a later   
date.
