Ronald Steel Hoffman (1947-2014)

Ronald Steel Hoffman passed away on April 21st, at 66 years of age in Monterey, CA. Ron was a loving Husband, father, uncle, grandfather and great-grandfather. He leaves behind his wife of 12 years, Patricia Hoffman, his daughters Christine van Rooy, Denise Bayne, Ilana Pickard, his sons, Ephraim Pickard, Kevin Hoffman, Menasha Pickard, his daughter-in-laws Lily Hoffman, Melissa Pickard, his son-in- laws Jerry van Rooy, Joseph Bayne, his grand-children, Colbe Hoffman, Devin Hoffman, Dylan Bayne, Naomi Pickard, Payton Bayne, and great-grand daughter Cali Raine. He is also survived by his Sister Evelyn E Bogle, Brother-in-Law Geoff K Bogle, Niece Beverly B Louthan with daughter Margaret (Maggie), Nephew Jeff W and wife Pamela J Bogle with their two children, Jessica L Bogle and Benjamin W Bogle.
Ron was born in St. Clair, Illinois to Earl A Hoffman and Juanita Swanson. After he graduated from Millikan High School in 1966, he served two years in the Vietnam War and was honorably discharged in 1969. He then worked for Boeing as an Avionic Engineer for 37 years before retiring and moving to Monterey to spend the rest of his days.
Ron enjoyed bowling, fishing, camping, golfing, baseball (especially the Giants), playing in Big Bands as a saxophone player and spending time with his family. He will be deeply missed.
Friends and Family are invited to celebrate the life of Ron Hoffman on Saturday May 3rd at 5:00 pm at The Christian Church of Pacific Grove, 442 Central Ave., Pacific Grove, Ca 93950.
