Becky Barnett (Avera)

Larry was my beloved brother-in-law of over 45 years, the husband of my sister, Cheryl Jan Barnett (Jan), class of 1968. Larry was one of the finest people I've ever known. He was quiet, humble, hilarious, and someone I knew would always have my back if need be. All of my nieces and nephews would surround him at family events because he was so much fun in his quiet way - all of those events devolved (haha) into raucous gatherings, his observations were hysterically funny - with my sister rolling her eyes. He was like a Pied Piper to all those kids, now of course adults. He is (I just can't use "was") beyond adored, loved beyond measure. This quiet man - he surprised us all some years ago when he bought a gorgeous Harley, grew a kind of biker mustache, and of all things took up karaoke! Freaking unbelievable! He and my sis spent countless hours with close friends at their favorite gathering place singing, with my super shy and reserved sis playing the tambourine! Strangest thing ever! He leaves three stellar children, Jason, Kevin, and Kimberly, their sweet spouses, and 9 grandchildren. My entire family is heartbroken, though relieved his suffering is mercifully over. I love you fiercely dear brother-in-law and our family is now forever changed because you've physically left us and we selfishly wish we could have you back as one of the stabilizing foundations of our family. I wish you all could have known him.

My dearest Becky,

There are no words anyone can say to help soften this great loss you and your family are now facing. It is with great symapthy that a prayer is raised to ask for comfort during this time of loss.

Larry left something  lasting with this family. "Love." He taught it in his own way and that is why the loss is so very great.

May you all take comfort that he is not truly gone forever because he lives in your hearts and thoughts.

Becky, I can not find the right words to say. You wrote the most beautiful article about your Brother in law, Bill.

I am sorry for all of you and your families loss. He will always be with you.

Respectfully,

So sorry for your loss Becky.  I had him in a class or two and he always seemed like such a nice guy.  I didn't remember he had married your sister -- so glad you all have such fond memories to cherish now.

Sabri love to you and your family at this difficult time.  Linda (Jones) Didier
