In Memory

Richard Renaker

Richard Renaker

A life well-lived is indeed a fitting way to describe the legacy of Richard Malcolm Renaker (5/5/48 - 9/6/11).

Rick loved good food, good wine, golf, fishing, sports, and traveling, but his favorite activity was entertaining friends and family at his home.

Rick was born in Long Beach to Alberta Beales Renaker and William Richard Renaker. A 1966 graduate of Millikan High School, Rick attended CSULB (BA and PPS) and Pepperdine (MA).

Mr. Renaker taught math at Tetzlaff Junior High and Gahr High, and was a guidance administrator at Cerritos High in the ABC Unified School District.

Rick was a member of the Cerritos Optimist Club (thirty years) and was president from 2009-2010. He served on the Cerritos Property and Preservation Commission.

After moving to Fallbrook in 2010, Rick joined the Beautification Alliance and Garden Club. Everyone who knew Rick would agree that they were touched by the care and concern he brought to his work and life. Their memories of him, and his influence, will continue long after final goodbyes are said.

He is survived by his wife of thirty-nine years, Diane May Renaker; sisters, Kathy Johnston (Bruce) and Suzie DuRoy Darias (Roger); brother, Paul Renaker (Cathy); nieces, Leilani Darias and Leanne Johnston; and nephews Richard and Robert Johnston.
