OK. This is only the second post in nine months. Either we are all too shy or way to busy. Which is it?

Shy...

Yep....shy! :-)

Funny, I don't remember many of my Classmates as "Shy"... or was I just to "busy" to notice?

We may not get far with this if the shy folks are the only ones with time to respond! My son accuses us of being a bunch of uptight old people... you don't suppose he is right do you? I guess we will find out at the toga party!

Or it may be that some of us. Are just now finding out all the different options this website has. And some of us might be real shy as well. LOL

Good point Willie, it is a pretty cool website! My year books are all at my folks house but Willie Ratliff is a name I can almost put a face to although the current version may differ from the one in memory!

Steve, not sure on my end either. So many people that were in that school that I just didn't and don't know. Coming in town from Mead. I just didn't know many of the kids from other schools. If I didn't meet them in wrestling in town or midget football. I didn't even know their face.

Just so you know. I look just like I did thirty years ago....haha

Can you imagine how much easier high school would have been if we had computers back then? It is amazing to see the high schoolers today complaining about how hard they have it in writing an essay or report (what...is your spell check broke?) LOL....now how is that for sounding like an old dude!

Great...great memories of LHS!

Writing out essays in ink! WOW, times have changed! Wasn't one of the English teacher's name Mrs. Vargas or something like that? It could have been comp. I can't remember how many papers we had to write out for her but it seemed like a thousand pages or so every quarter. Or maybe I just didn't like that class! :P

I have had so much fun with this website, thank you Sue!!! It has been great to reconnect with old friends. I am looking forward to guessing who everyone is in a few weeks.

Guessing is a great way to put it. I know I have changed in the past 30 years...... See everyone soon!

Personally, I have mostly "expanded"... so be it.... I am really looking forward to everyone that wants to join back up having a chance to do that.... and I am loving hearing from those of you who are getting the opportunity to reconnect through the website with old friends and to make some new ones! Thirty years is a long time and as one Classmate put it during some email exchanges recently.... people come and go in our lives for a reason, we don't always know why....

Can't wait to see everyone and to share reunion news with those who are not able to join us. I am looking forward to folks keeping up with one another here on the website if nothing else...

Everyone Take GOOD Care of you!! We want to see you and hear from you soon!!!

Hi, I wanted to let you know what a great job you have all done. I love the website too! I sure hope we can keep it after the reunion, if we can't I will miss being able to go on and see what's new. Thank you to the committee for working so hard to make this a special time for us.

Why not post? Most of the friends I hung out with aren't on here. And the shy people now, were probably shy in h.s., too--like myself.

FYI, to any interested: I have contact with Mike Nelson, my bro, so could pass on a message. No guarantees past that. ;)

OK guys, last night was a BLAST! I dont' have a voice this morning, imagine that? Thanks to everyone who came! I took 70 pix and hopefully we will be able to post or something so they are available to all. See ya tonight!

Thanks Sue & Lynn for all the hard work getting the reunion going and for this website. What a GREAT way to keep in touch.

So sorry that I missed the reunion. Even though most of the people I hung out with in HS are not the 'reunion' type I was looking forward to connecting with you. Let's keep the blog going. Sad to see so many names in the "In Memory" section. Living in Ohio and out of touch with classmates, I had no idea about most of those people. Died too young.

Hats off to all that worked hard on putting the reunion together. Sue,glad you like to babysit us. Your work on the website is "top shelf."

Thanks again.

This is a 'P.S.' to my 08/06/09 09:22 AM post concerning my bro, Mike Nelson, who is on the 'Missing Classmates' list. He doesn't have a computer, therefore you won't find him on Facebook, Myspace, etc. and, of course, he doesn't have email and won't be setting up a profile on here. You might 'run into' him some night at Walmart, as he works there. Best wishes to all.

Hoping everyone will see this - haven't been on in awhile. There will be a surprise honoring of Coach Betz on Saturday, Feb 12th, 2011 at LHS. Coach Kloster has asked ANYONE who played for Betz to come sign a basketball at 6:15 and then Coach will be honored before the game. Tell any b-ball players you know out there for me!  THANKS and SHHHHH!

P.S. You could also just come cheer on your old alma mater - they're doing well!

Hi all!  In an effort to get the word out about the 40 year reunion (40 years...really?) we are revitalizing this website!  I hope you all will mark your calendars for June 15th and plan to join us to celebrate 40 years of life after high school!  More details to follow.  In the meantime, please help us get the word out and if you are a Facebooker, please join the FB group, Longmont High School Class of 1979.  There are a lot of fun pictures from back in the day and lots of memories being shared.  If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me at Sspriggs524@gmail.com  Both Lynn Lechman Greenhalge and Susan Wells Smith have done such an amazing job organizing all of our past reunions.  They both needed a break this year, so a group of us are trying to live up to their high standards and are working hard to plan a fun event.  Stay tuned....

Sue (Evans) Spriggs
