I will never forget the day that Randy lost his life and the circumstances around it. What a loss. Wish that you and John were around today. Knowing Randy since we were kids playing midget football was always fun. And then as we got older just having fun and watching the girls. The girls always liked Randy.

RIP

Randy was so sweet; he was the first person to make me feel welcome after my family moved to Longmont in 1975. He picked me up and threw me over his shoulder in the hallway at Longs Peak Jr. High, then deposited me in the boys restroom! He teased me every day after that; it was always in good fun. We had a drag race around the high school in the morning on the day he died. I have many fond memories of him...such a sad ending.

I remember how sweet Randy was to everyone. He was one of the first boys who treated me kindly. I remember hanging out at Sunset Pool with him. He was so fun to be around all the time. I always think of you on your anniversary Randy!!

I first met Randy at Hygiene Elementary in the 5th grade. He was a big kid then and we used to play touch football in the field behind the school. If he wanted the ball you just gave it back!

I remember the day he passed away. I was walking to a dental appointment across the street from the grocery store (on the corner) about noon and he was walking to his Mustang with the guy that was with him that day. We waved at each other and that was the last time I saw him.

Whenever I drive on Nelson Rd. around that corner, I still think of him and know he is in a better place branding cattle or something. Rest in peace Randy!

I also met Randy in 5th grade at Hygiene elementary school. We would play touch/tackle football on the playground during recess. One day for some crazy reason I decided to try to tackle Randy; he managed to kick me in the mouth and I bit my tongue which required several stitches. It turned out to be cool since I missed some school! Randy was the first to be lost from our class, the first real person I ever knew to die. Rest in peace.
