Julie Steele Steele

-Thanks to the individuals who have created this website and who are organizing the reunion. I'm not sure if I'll attend, but hope you have a fun time connecting with each other.

-Transferred to Western Washington University because I always wanted to live in the Pacific Northwest after taking a camping trip along the coast as a kid. Western is in Bellingham, Washington, the "Boulder" of the state of Washington.

-Obtained journalism/geography degrees and proceeded to work for a daily newspaper on the Olympic Peninsula. I even covered hickish towns like now famous, Forks, Washington (Twilight). Returned to Bellingham after getting another degree in paralegal studies in Seattle. Newspaper work was a 24/7 job and I wanted a life separate from work.

-For the past 25 years, I have worked as a paralegal for two law firms and now the City Attorney's Office in Bellingham, Washington, specializing in litigating Appellate and State Supreme Court cases. You plan on working on a case on a given day and your day turns out totally different than planned.

-Still running and enjoy running through the forests and rain daily with my three border collie dogs. (Attacked by an owl the other night.) My eldest daughter runs ultra trail runs with me. She is much faster than me these days (further humbling me) as she placed 8th at the Cross Country National Championships earning All-American honors. Being active helps me fight this aging thing.

-Although I miss the snow, I'm grateful I live here as I look across the bay each night and the Alaskan ferry docked below my house. This is home.
