Dear Randy,

I'm sorry to read that you won't be attending our reunion. I realize at this late hour that there are indeed penalties for losing track of people.

I remember how we would whittle away our time at lunch hour, watching over the many subjects of our sarcastic humor. It seemed to me at the time that we were both disaffected youth, but still your laugh would spurn my own pessimism to which I clung so dearly.

Remember when I came to your house a few years later--I think it was with Aaron Reardon--and we drank a very young honey mead? I thought about you when I brewed beer later on.

In my mind you are still a Paladin. Intelligent, warm-hearted, an odd sort of a white knight in a dark world, you will remain in my thoughts, buried deep within, and I will visit you there from time to time. I concern myself no longer with the dead; the living are the ones for whom I am still in this plane. If there's an afterlife, I wouldn't ask that you wait for me there. But I'll look for you if and when I get there....

Godspeed, my friend.

Shane

Randy,
A great friend since 7th grade. I tell my kids about the chubby kid who lost tons of weight by eating nothing but lettuce for a while, thinking it was as sweet as candy and how you transformed yourself seemingly overnight from someone who could hardly run accros the field to someone who could bench press most of our class.

Your passing serves as a reminder to live life to the fullest. I know where ever you are, your giving them hell.

Your friend,
Kevin Keene
