Reunion Details
Friday, July 23rd (Unoffical event)
6:00pm-?
Oskar Blues Homemade Liquids & Solids
1555 S Hover Rd
Longmont, Colorado 80501

Unofficial meetup/cocktails/nibbles at the newest Oskar Blues location in Longmont. Weather permitting, we'll be enjoying the enormous outdoor area, complete with a bocce ball court. This is a casual get-together for anyone who comes into town before the reunion officially begins, so it's not technically part of the reunion package. If anyone wants to start the party early, this will be the place to do it! Oscar Blues is at the southwest corner of Hover and the Diagonal Highway/Ken Pratt Boulevard, so it's actually walkable from the Radisson, if you'd rather not be driving (.64 miles). It would have cost $3000 to reserve the outdoor area (catering required), so we're just going to mingle with all of the happy locals.
Saturday, July 24th
Morning
I'm considering reserving some tee times if anyone is interested in golfing in the morning. Please email me at ddgp2@aol.com if you think you'll be up for it after partying down at Oskar Blues the night before. This would be an ala carte (or ala cart...ha ha) activity. Sunset Golf Course charges $15 for 9-holes and $22 for 18-holes.
5:00pm-12:00am
The Radisson Fairview Ballroom see map
This is our semi-dressy, adults-only event, so hand those kids over to loving family members or trusted babysitters and join us for cocktails, appetizers, trivia games, and prizes, from 5:00-6:00pm.
At 6:00, we'll gather outside for a professional portrait of our entire class. You may order your copies from the photographer at the reunion or on his website.
At 6:30, we'll dine on a delicious buffet:
Fiesta Buffet with: Cheese Enchiladas, Chipotle Lime Flank Steak, Spanish Rice, Tortilla Chips and Salsa Bar, Garden Salad with: Roasted Sweet Corn, Black Beans and Green Chiles served with Chipotle Ranch Dressing, and all of the sopapillas you can handle.
Dinner will be followed by a nostalgic slide show of days gone by.
[Please go to the Slide Show Photos Page on this site and download any old pictures that you've scanned and would like to see included in the slide show. Add a caption explaining who we're seeing and the occasion. Please limit pictures to those taken in the early 1990's and before. I can't guarantee that all pictures will be used, but right now there's a fair chance since nobody has added any yet. I do have a HUGE bag of real slides that I'll be converting to digitized images. Thanks to Kathy Solt Dangerfield for these!]
Next, put on your dancin' shoes and shake off the dust...we're going to rock out to the tunes of the 80s and early 90s.
By 10:00pm (or earlier), people should be socially lubricated enough to appreciate the amazing vocal stylings of...US! Karaoke will run from 10:00ish-11:30.
We'll wind down from 11:30-midnight and people can either go to bed, to rest up for Sunday's exciting, catered barbecue, or they can go out until Longmont shuts down (2:00am, in case you've forgotten). Old Chicago is directly next to the hotel, thus does not require any driving.
Sunday, July 25th
11:00am-3:00pm
Dine on award-winning barbecue from Prospect's The Rib House (thanks to Ardis Jerzak Plaster for the recommendation). Send the kids off to the playground or the inflatables to exhaust themselves, or maybe they'd like to have their faces painted, while you lounge in the shade catching up with long-cherished and newfound friends. If you're feeling feisty, you can challenge one another to hilarious bungee races. Don't forget to bring a blanket or lawn chairs to sit on. I'll provide some blankets for our out-of-town guests, but may not have enough for everybody. If you're local, please bring an extra blanket to share with out-of-towners.
This just in! If you book directly through our classmate, Daniel Yap's, travel agency, he can get you a rate of $81.75 a night (+tax) at the Radisson Hotel and Conference Center...21 day advance booking required, but I'd do it sooner rather than later.
Daniel's Website: http://www.yapvacations.com/
Recommended Hotel: The Radisson Hotel and Conference Center. We are receiving a special rate of $96/night. There is a small block of rooms reserved for our use with Thursday-Sunday nights available in case you plan to stay a little longer to visit family and friends. Please make your reservations as soon as possible. The special rate will be offered for as long as there is room availability, but other large groups may be booking soon, so don't miss out!
