In May, we had a 40th anniversary party at good ol' Longs Peak (I teach there), which is now a middle school. Lots of our teachers were there and I'm actually good buddies with Phyllis Baranway now (we taught together for years). The Facebook group for the event is: Longs Peak Jr. High and Longs Peak Middle School Alumni Group and the event was: Longs Peak Jr. High/Middle School 40th Anniversary Celebration.
I'm still close to Chris Rainey, so I know what his mom, Mrs. (Gail) Rainey is up to (retired and doing tons of great work for the Humane Society and other causes while enjoying Grandmotherhood). Paul Flanders is still teaching at LHS, if you can believe that! As for other high school teachers, I'm FB friends with Sally Gaddis and can get in touch with just about anyone through Phyllis Baranway. Sadly, Mr. Hultgren passed away a short while ago.
I'd love to find Karen McIntosh. That woman was such an amazing teacher that she set the course for my own life as an English teacher (not that I'm anywhere near her greatness). Does anyone happen to have any information? |
