It is with saddened heart to advise that one of our fellow classmates, Riff West, has passed away as a result of complications from an earlier automobile accident.
At Lyman, Riff was voted as the "Most Mischievous" and played on our basketball team.
Riff was a member of Molly Hatchet from 1982 until around 1990 and played bass and vocals for Foghat from 1991 to 1993.
You will be missed by thousands of people that you touched in your lifetime!! I, for one, will miss your beautiful smile and that great sense of humor during our high school years. I think of you as part of the "Rat Pack of Lyman".....you, Larry Garner and Matt Hickok always made my days at Lyman so much fun!! I love you, Riff and I will see you in the end!!! God has blessed your wonderful soul!!!
I was sorry to hear about Riff and now I hear that his sidekick Matt has passed. Those two were the guards on our undefeated 9th grade South Seminole Jr. High basketball team: Rose, Stuart, Ricket, Means, Hargis, Garret, Millwee, Shaw and I am sure there were some more that escape memory. Hard to accept that we are mortal, a 16 year old trapped in a 65 year old body. My condolenses to their friends and families.
