Sheldon Thompson

Thompson Jones was a lifelong resident of Elyria. He graduated from Admiral King High School in 1999 and attended Lorain County Community College. Thompson Jones was an accomplished musician and owned his own recording label, called Steele Grinding. He enjoyed travel in his musical career and reading and cooking. He attended the Palace of Praise Church in Cleveland. Survivors include his mother, Chantay Chapman of Avon; sisters Samara Jones and Brittany Chapman, both of Lorain; brothers Robert Plowden of Frederick, Okla., and Terrence Chapman of Lorain; maternal grandmother, Ruth Plowden of Lorain; paternal grandmother, Frances Jones of Oberlin; and nieces, nephews and other relatives. He was preceded in death by his father, Grover Jones; maternal grandfather, Paul Plowden Sr.; and paternal grandfather, Jake Jones. Services will be Saturday at 11 a.m. at Carter Funeral Home, 3001 Elyria Ave., Lorain. The Rev. Louis Kayatin, pastor of Church on the North Coast, will officiate.
