Martha Hoke Kennedy

I graduated from the University of Redlands in 1966 with a major in English and later a masters degree. I never planned to stay in Redlands, but that is just what happened. I married a U of R graduate who was also a dynamic cross country and track coach, and both of us taught secondary English. After 38 years, I retired from teaching high school. I coached a huge speech and debate team for 20 years with state and national champions in many categories, even being named to the State Hall of Fame for California coaches. We have two wonderful children, Scott and Melinda, who are both married. Scott lives nearby and Melinda in Tallahassee, Florida. Our three grandchildren are the light of our lives. We enjoy traveling and have seen many fascinating places in the past few years. Very active in our church, we are very involved in this community. We have loved living in Redlands--in the same house since 1970.

So many years teaching at Redlands High School, I still remember Marshall and have great memories of
friends, activities and motivating teachers. I have never been to a reunion---how could it be 50 years???
