Marlborough Heritage

  • Founded by educator Mary Caswell in 1889, Marlborough School is celebrating its 122nd year as the oldest independent girls' school in Southern California.
  • Marlborough's chapter of the California Scholarship Federation, the state's oldest honor society, was established in 1927.
  • The School's Honor Principle, which gives students an active role in crating a community of honor and integrity, was formally adopted in 1951.
  • The School sits on a verdant four-acre campus in Hancock Park, one of Los Angeles' most beautiful residential areas. Its location provides convenient access to downtown Los Angeles as well as the small-town charm of neighboring Larchmont Village.
