I was so very sad to see Johnny Pike has gone. His cheeky demeanour and close friendship meant a lot to me when we were young.
It appears John Douglas Pike was born on the 30th of March 1960 and he died on the 22nd of September 1984, aged 24, and far too young.

JOHN DOUGLAS PIKE, 24, of 2143 Goldsmith Lane, formerly of 8715 Bates Road, died Saturday at his home after an illness. He was an employee of Kentucky Metals Inc. of New Albany, Ind. Survivors include his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Robert L. Pike Sr.; three sisters, Mrs. Anne Greene, Mrs. Karen Gentry and Miss Mary L. Pike; three brothers, Robert L. Jr., Donald W. and James G. Pike; and his grandmother, Mrs. Margaret M. Pike of Hayward, Calif. The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Ratterman's, 3800 Bardstown Road, with burial in St. Michael Cemetery. Visitation at the funeral home will be from 3 to 9 p.m. Monday. The family requests that expressions of sympathy take the form of contributions to the Visiting Nurses Association.
