Hi everyone! I left Mickey at the hospital and just got home. He hates it there! We were at the doctor's office at 8am and they finally got him admitted and in his room at about 2:00pm. So you can imagine he was pretty impatient by that time. It was a good thing we went to McDonalds before we went to the hospital because they didn't bring him anything to eat until 7:30 - and then he didn't like it (fish and lumpy mashed potatoes). I guess I'll be getting him carryout a lot. I think he's told everyone what is going on. Surgery probably Tuesday to put a steel rod/screws in his back. This is to stabilize his back so they can do the surgery to remove & replace the damaged bones. They'll do the 2nd surgery about a week after the 1st. The spine surgeon said his spine looked like someone's who had fell off of a roof and broke his back. The deterioration was that bad. The difference between the MRI 3 weeks ago and the one he had done on Friday was really significant, so the deterioration was happening pretty fast. He said he should not have as much pain when he gets this surgery done. He said he does this same surgery about once a week.

Mickey is at Norton's Hosp 5R-6. He was asleep when I left - I woke him up to tell him bye and then I woke him up again when I got home to tell him I was home -- hopefully he'll sleep good tonight.

Most Gracious Heavenly Father,
We thank you so much for the beautiful weather we have had this week. Thank you for all of your seasons, but especially For Spring!
Lord, you know we are so worried about Mickey. We just lift him up to you for you to lay your healing hands on him. Even though we are worried and apprehensive about 2 upcoming surgeries after he has already been through so much, God, we just praise you for his healing. We cannot wait to see what you have planned for his life as soon as he gets all of this behind him! Please lift his spirits and I pray that he will remember who you are and that ALL things are possible through you~ You who created Heaven and Earth, and each one of us. You know him most intimately both inside and out. I pray you look out for Dr. Reiss and Dr Glassman as they work together to make Mickey whole again. Please be with each one of us as we wait sometimes impatiently to see him better. We trust in you with all of our hearts and KNOW you can and will heal him. Thank you for loving us and for being here always, even in that small room with Mickey even now. We love you, In Christ we pray...Amen!

Jennifer Short (Gnau) debi, great prayer, dr glassman has taken over and will be doing surgery solo. reiss was great but think we are finally on the right road with glassman. cara, you are the best wife ever. i thank god every day that my dad found you. i love you. thank you for all you do. sherri, yes i am very worried but i think this is exactly what he needs. go cards!!!!!

Debra Lou Short (Dissell) Hello All! Vicki and I just got back from seeing Mickey. When we got there he had just received a shot for pain, didn't look so great, but after a few minutes he looked much better and lunch came and he was even better! We stayed about 2 hours and then Gary came in. Sarah, how was your birthday? Hope everyone is enjoying this beautiful day!! Talk to ya later!!

Lisa Short (Dillander) hello all ! it is another BEAUTIFUL day in the ville ! had a good time with the girls last night at the sleep over , maybe kristie will post a picture or two !!! debi what did the doctor say ? nice of you all to go visit mickey today . maybe we should make a list so he has visitors everyday . just a idea . are we still playing bunco ?
