tornado touchdown here today didnt see any damage .the wedding was very nice , johanna looked B EAUTIFUL ! she has a nice house and big yard.zack tori kyle and i are staying at a hotel in clarksville .it is a nice town.

vicki glad your having fun in michigan , i like it there in the summer . who is saying different things on the phone and in person ?

talked to mickey today and he is much better than yesterday .thank God . cara i hope you are feeling better too.

sherri mom is back home and fine , i talked to her about 9 .

david will make lasagna sometime next week .

sarah zack and tori are better , thanks for asking.

Debra Lou Short (Dissell) Where was mom? Lisa, glad you are having fun in Tennessee. I hope you took some pictures. Tornado touchdown??? Did it interfere with the wedding? was the wedding outdoors? Are the kids better? When are you coming home?

Debra Lou Short (Dissell) Donn said Johnny was very excited for the wedding. Really likes his new son in law. I hope he enjoyed himself. I wish we could of been there. After missing a month a work I could not get off work today. Hope to see lots of pictures!!

Good morning all. Just spoke to Mickey and he sounds much better, although he said he had a rough night. Went 8 hours yesterday w/o any pain meds and the doctor said he shouldn't go that long because it takes it longer to work when he does need it. They have a scheduled every 8 hour dose, but he has a PRN dose every 4 hours PRN of two others. He also said the more he gets up the less pain he will have so he's going to try to get up more today. His blood transfusions have helped him too. The next surgery will be Tuesday. And then "NO MORE SURGERIES!". He can't wait to get home to see all of our flowers blooming. The tulips and daffodils are all in full bloom in the back yard and the hyacinths in the front - they are beautiful. I took him a bouquet yesterday that was just georgous. Hope all the little kids are getting well. Hope all you big kids are getting well too! Anybody know how Cathy has been? Everyone have safe trips home! Can't wait to see the pictures of Johanna's weddding. Well - off to the hospital again. I'm going to try to go to work a little while today while he's watching the car race.

The new meds seem to be working pretty good. I'm just trying to slow myself down a little bit and not rush everywhere.

Vicki Short (Bumann) Cara: So glad Mickey is better. I was quite concerned when I talked to him on Friday. Tell him to trust that he will be better soon. Continue to be positive and you are correct. You need to slow down and keep yourself in good shape.

Vicki Short (Bumann) Lisa: I looked at your and Johanna's personal site to see if anyone had posted wedding pictures. I guess it is too soon to tell. UL is down by 9 points with about 11 minutes to go. If you are watching, think positive thoughts. You, too, David......even if it is not NASCAR! We do not want Michigan State to win.

Sherri Short (Chappell) Talked to Cathy today. She sees a specialist in 2 weeks (oncologist). MOM is staying with David tonight. Talked to Mickey. He is very sad and scared. He still needs our prayers. Surgery Tuesday is still on. Signing off. Love to all and thanks for helping with Mom.

Mickey got up and walked down the hallway 4 times today - he did really well. Much better at getting around than he was before the surgery - so it has helped. As Sherri said he is scared. This next surgery will be entirely different as they are going through his abdomen to do this one so he's not sure what to expect as far as the recovery from that. He's very compliant with the physical therapy - even though it's hard on him. He knows he has to do it in order to get well enough to come home. I'm very proud of him.

His surgery was not postponed, just was not able to schedule it until Thursday. The doctor talked to him this morning about what they are going to do. They will remove one of his ribs and crush it to mix with the genetic engineered material to create new bone to replace the bone that has deteriorated. They will still build the cage around it to help support it while it heals. This will be another 4-5 hour surgery. He was very upset after getting this news because the removal of the rib was news to us. However, I told my boss what they were going to do and he said that it was good for them to do that - he said that is "good stuff" which would work very well. I gave him a chair bath and washed his hair, which made him feel a whole lot better. When I took his socks off I noticed his ankles and feet were really swollen. I asked the nurse to check them out and to see if he was getting his HCTZ (water pill). He was not. She said that they had it in the chart with the list of meds that I gave them, but the doctor had not ordered it. She called the doc and he gave them the order so he got it tonight and they'll start it again each morning. They nurses had checked his feet just a couple of days ago when I was there and they weren't swollen then but he's been up on them quite a bit more the past two days.

I got my blood test and x-ray results back today - everything is fine but my neck and upper back are swollen but normal for a "woman my age". He is going to fax requests for the new migraine medicine and muscle relaxers for me to my Rx company. He also suggested going to a chiropractor, which I may do. Anybody have a good one? Maybe a good massage at Z Salon - which I've been meaning to do for a while - might do some good also. I'm going Wednesday for a bone density test to check for osteoporosis.

Please add my Mom (Gladys) to your prayer lists. She had a PET scan done and it is showing some places in her chest - they think the lymph nodes. She is going to have more tests to check them out and I'm trying not to worry until we get more information. The PET scan was ordered by the dermatologist she has been going to for skin cancers. So... prayers please!

Bye now - I'm going to do a little work from home while watching Dancing with the Stars!
