Jenny fer fer...you are the coolest! Don't worry about all the computer stuff. I just copy off everyone else!! Thanks for the updates on your dad. I know he has to be in pain. Just think how painful it is to just bruise a rib...but to take it completely out...OUCH!!! I guess of anyone we've ever known or will ever know...Mickey knows most how Adam must of felt!!! Debra Lou Short (Dissell) Marisa will be here from the 10th to the 19th. This includes (but is not limited to) Easter, her birthday, and Thunder over Louisville. A big week! I think she is excited to be coming. She is even missing her 1 year "anniversary" with Alberto.

Hi everybody. Just got home from the hospital. I came home earlier today to get cleaned up and planned to spend the night there again, but Mickey has been resting all day and told me to go home. I told him I would if he would promise to call me if he woke up and couldn't go back to sleep and needed me to be there, and he said he would. They don't have recliners in the ICU and the upright chairs are hard to sleep in, but I managed to do it anyway. The pain pump is keeping his pain under control - I think much better even than it did last week when he was on it because they aren't having to supplement it with any other pain meds. He still has a little indigestion but it's better. I took him some rolaids before I left. The chest doctor told me it would be ok. He also said the x-ray they did yesterday looked good - the drain tube is where it needs to be and they will take it out probably in two days - when it dries out. They took the pic line out of his neck this morning because it was leaking. I guess I'll stop at the store in the morning and buy him a bright red apple! LOL

Debra Lou Short (Dissell) Cara, thanks for the update! I am glad the meds are keeping his pain a little at bay. I think that it is a great idea for you to be home trying to rest. We have all said it before, but you have to take care of yourself or you'll be no good for anyone. Get some sleep! ZAC= zzz's are calling!!!

Debi - you're welcome for the updates. I let Mickey know that I'm keeping you updated - that's very important to him - he knows how much you all care. I appreciate you all sharing information too but if at anytime anyone hasn't heard anything and needs an update, please feel free to call me; I'll post a note every evening about his progress and send texts when anything new comes up. Mickey probably hasn't answered his phone today much, he was pretty tired. Stacy came up today and he knew they were there but couldn't really wake up enough to visit. It was really too soon for a visit, but she brought Jon Ethan and I enjoyed seeing him and took him for a walk through the hospital. He had a great time.

Yes Vickii - Jen was great yesterday. She is the best and deserves the BEST DAUGHTER IN THE WORLD award! It meant a lot to both of us that she was there.

Debi - I know you're excited that Marissa is coming home for a visit. That is great news!

OK - I'm off of here for the night. Talk to you all tomorrow! Haven't heard from Mickey yet so all must be well.

Mickey had a pretty good day, but this evening the indigestion started again. Probably because he started eating a little today for the first time after surgery. For those of you who didn't get the msg - he was moved to 5C-bed 1. Still had him on bedrest today but I helped him sit up on the side of the bed though and helped him get dressed. He stood up for a few minutes - didn't even have to use his walker - and it helped to release some of the indigestion. He was like a baby that just had a full bottle! They removed the chest drain and catheter today - so that made him feel a lot better too. I feel really good about this last surgery. The pain he is having seems to be more related to the incision than any back or leg pain! We'll see how it goes tomorrow when they start getting him up to walk.

If anybody comes to the hospital and are using the parking entrance on Chestnut Street - just wanted to let you know that the entrance on Gray Street is much better. Don't have to go up the winding ramp with concrete wall on both sides! I hated that! Weekends you don't have to pay to park in the garage.
