Lisa Short (Dillander) guess not . well thanks for all the well wishes for my baby boys 13th bday . i, like debi think that he should still be a baby. he chose not to have a kid party but we still had dinner at mike linnigs with some family and close friends.there was 17 of us and it was a BEAUTIFUL day!

Cara, keep the updates coming. We have not come to the hospital since surgery because we know Mickey needs to concentrate on getting stronger and not try to entertain so much. But please let him know we are thinking about him and continuing our prayers for him. I am glad to hear the pain is better. Hopefully now he is on the true road to recovery for complete healing, not just pain relief. Tell him we love him!

I sent a text today but here it is again for you non-text folks and a little more for you texters! Mickey got up twice today to walk and this evening to go to the bathroom. He is walking really good according to the PT and nurses compared to others who have had this type of surgery. He is in a lot of pain when he gets up and also when he sleeps for awhile and doesn't give himself the pump. They had told me I couldn't push it for him, but the RN today said it was ok if he slept for awhile to keep him from being in so much pain when he woke up. A bunch of the men from church came today after church and had a prayer session with him. He kept asking where everybody was. I assured him that everyone was sending messages and have been calling to check on him and that you all wanted to be there but were just trying to let him get his rest so he could get well. He knows that but I think was just feeling a little down today. I was there from about 1:00 until 8:30 today and he slept most of that time. The nurse said by Tuesday he would probably be a lot better. He told Lisa he "needs his people!". He may be groggy if he's had his extra pain meds and might not feel like talking long if you call or might not be able to stay awake if you visit, but at this point I think it will do him good. Don't feel bad if you wake him up. He'll be able to keeps his meds going if he doesn't sleep for long hours. Lisa is coming up tomorrow when she gets off work. Also, I'll have to be at work a lot this week so I won't be there with him all day but will check on him often. I'm going to be really busy because it's getting close to the end of the fiscal year and there's a lot of work to do. I'm going to see if some of my family could visit him Tuesday night, since we're having bunco. I'll feel better about leaving him so early if I know someone will be there, but really am looking forward to playing bunco with you guys!!!

Well that's about it for today. I don't expect much will change tomorrow, except hopefully he won't have as much pain. It should get better each day though.
