Date Of Birth: June-1945
Date Deceased: January-23-2018
Age at Death: 72

After Waggener, Bill attended Speed Scientific School of the University of Louisville, with a major in Electrical Engineering. During Freshman year, he carpooled with other WHS '63 Graduates John Overly, Roy Nachand, Roger Rose and Lee Boylan. He graduated from the 5-year Speed School program in 1968. He went into industry for a short while until Local Board 42 urged him toward Army Basic Training at Ft. Knox. Bill spent his remaining Army time at Ft. Detrick MD, the research center of U.S. biological weapons and, after 1969, biological defense. After the Army, Bill went to Stanford University near Palo Alto CA for a Masters Degree, and stayed in Silicon Valley for the productive career which includes having his name on patent documents. While at Stanford, he began care for the worsening asthma condition that resisted everything except steroids. He probably has medical fame for living on that substance for so long. Remains are destined for cremation; the family intends no memorial event.

So very sorry to learn of Bill's passing.  I failed to keep in touch through the years but I remember well the times we car-pooled to college (Speed Scientific School).  He was a witty guy; he wrote the following in my '63 Liar "Hope you haven't eaten any chicken on Friday lately...", in reference to my Catholicism.  R.I.P Bill.
