I have not lived in Louisville as an adult, but would periodically fly there to visit my parents.  I would sometimes see Ron at the Delta counter.  We remembered each other, and have a nice conversation as time permitted.  I think he really liked working for Delta, which at that time was our surviving Southern airline.
I believe that Ron may have given me a first class upgrade one time (when my Medallion status might not have granted it). Thanks Ron.
We were in the same graduating class at Waggener, 1963.

Ron went to elementary school in Lyndon, as I did.  I knew him from a young age.  I missed seeing him at our recent 55th reunion.  I started attending the reunions with the 40th, always enjoying seeing the old Lyndon school crowd.  Unfortunately, if I ever make it to another Waggener reunion, I shall continue to miss seeing and talking with him. Rest In Peace, Ron.

He was a super nice guy and I enjoyed our time together at Lyndon, Waggener and the summer I worked at the airport.  His wife Martha was also a lovely person.

I knew Ron from the old Lyndon Elementary days and the fun we had on the playground and at the fish frys-then, of course, at Waggener. Ron was a real gentleman, always so cordial, and one of good guys. I am sorry to learn of his passing and will miss him.

I am so sorry to hear of Ron's passing. I have not seen him in decades, but I have such good memories of his kindness, and self-effacing good humor. He was a real sweetie. Rest in peace, Ron. You made the world a kinder place.

I too went to Lyndon Elementary and considered Ron a friend from day one. A gentle and considerate soul. I worked close to the airport and would see Ron frequently, and agree he enjoyed working for Delta. One day I got a call at the office and it was Ron, in a whisper he asked if I could talk. I said sure. Whispering he said, I needed to come to the customs area at the sirport. "Come as soon as you can, I can only keep this hidden for a short period of time."

Me, "Whare you talking about?"

Whispering, "I think someone is shipping you drugs from China, I have a package."

"What.....drugs???? I don't .....

Again in a whisper, "Come as soon as you can."

I went to the airport immediately.

I walked in and Ron was smiling. "Gotcha!"

My in-laws had sent us a silk rug from China.

Rest In Peace,Ron, you will be missed.

I remember having a good visit with Ron at the 45th. Last one I attended. Enjoyed my time with him then. I remember us talking about how my brother John was doing and that was ten years ago.  They both passed away the same week. Guess they are catching up!

Miss you my friend
