Felhoelter Bolton. She was a graduate of Waggener High School, and later graduated from St. Joseph Infirmary School of Nursing, both in Louisville. Years later she received her nursing home administrator's license from Slippery Rock University. She worked for many years at Charles Cole Memorial Hospital, in Coudersport, PA.
