Joined the Air Force 2 Aug 1950 and retired 2 Feb 1975 with the rank of SMSgt with 26 years retirement pay. Served on two bases in Vietnam from 1969 to 1970. In the service, I received the Bronze Star Medal; 3 AF Commendation Medals; 2 Distinguished/President Unit Citations; 2 AF Outstanding Unit Awards; 2 National Defense Service Medals; 2 Vietnam Service Medals; the Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal and many other awards during my career in the AF. One of the most outstanding event that happen to me in my career in the AF, when I was selected to help write test question within my career field (the Dental Service) for the AF. After retirement from the service. I sold life insurance for one year;work with United Parcel Services for 3 years and retired from the United Postal Services in 1994 with over 17 years of services. Received 5 outstanding awards from the Postal Services. Have been heavily involved with the Temple VFW and Elks doing community and state services. Been an officer in the Elks for over 29 years and been an officer in the VFW for three years. Was selected as Elk of the Year in 2003; Officer the years 1988 and 2005;and many other awards during the years in the Elks. In 2011, I was selected to be an officer in The Elks National Bull-Shippers Of America. This was a great honor since this position is very hard to obtain. Best of all, the wife and I are in 4 Golf Leagues; enjoying our children, grandchildren and great grant children, which keep us very busy!!!!!
