Ken passed away in East Lansing, Michigan, on October 17, 2012 after a 34 year battle with cancer. His obituary is below:

Kenneth A. Shapiro
Age 70, of East Lansing, passed away October 17, 2012. He was born July 8, 1942, in Lynbrook, New York, to Herman and Eleanor Shapiro.

A memorial service will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Sunday, October 21, 2012, at Congregation Shaarey Zedek, 1924 Coolidge Road, East Lansing, MI 48823, with Rabbi Amy Bigman officiating. Inurnment will follow in Evergreen Cemetery in Lansing. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
