Charlie was a good friend to West Enders through high school. His loss is sad.
“ Tears just now upon learning of Charlie’s passing. Funny how someone I knew only for the short years of high school could illicit that reaction. It had to be his warm smile, his funny and cheerful ways. In a strange way I truly miss him; the last time I saw him was 57 years ago, but he will always be in my heart. My condolences to his family.”

Charlie " Nuggets" Stanford was one of the more important memories I have from the LHS class of 60.
For many years I thought he was the best athlete in the USA. Charlie was respectful and supportative to those of us who were significantly less gifted. For me, his personality and social skills were probably his greatest asset..
Looking back he brought pride, joy, and humor to the class.
Goodbye Charlie you have left alot of positive, unforgettable memories.Thanks.

I am truly sorry to hear of the passing of Charles Stanford, or 'CHARLIE' as I knew him. It brings back to the forefront just how potentially frail we all are. One never knows When our number will come up.
Hearing that Chalie passed from the effects of a stroke, I say Rest In Peace Charles as the Lord has seen fit to take you mercifully and I hope that you did not suffer. You were always an integral piece of The Class of 1960 and will be remembered as such.
Again, Rest In Peace Charles Stanford.
