I can't believe it's been 20 years! Time flies!
After high school I went to Dordt for a year where I met and married my kids dad. We lived in Washington for a year where I had my first son, Luke and then back to Iowa for 2 years where I had my second son, Josh and then to Arizona for 4 years before finally making it back home and having 2 more boys, Andy and Jordan!
I've worked at Wal-mart in Iowa, ran a child care in my home in Arizona, worked for my parents adult family homes and several other private caregiving jobs before settling into my current job as enteral coordinator at OptionCare in Bellingham. I love my job!
I have been blessed with four wonderful kids.
Luke is 18 and just graduated from Lynden. (WOW! That still feels weird to say!) He played trumpet for 8 years and was in the jazz band in high school. He was in the Sound of Music and Beauty and the Beast. He has an amazing voice and loves to sing. He is very involved at our church, NCCTK, running sound for the kids programs and attending youth group there. He has been a counselor for Camp Shilo for the past 2 years. He is planning to attend Whatcom in the fall and hopes to go on to *some other school yet to be decided* for a degree in computer programming.
Josh is going to be a Junior at Lynden in the fall. He is also in band. He plays the base clarinet and base guitar. He has been on the stage crew for the musical the past 2 years. Josh is also very involved at Church and was a counselor at Shilo last year. He's not sure what he wants to be when he grows up but he would like to work on Myth Busters!
Andy is going into 5th grade at Vossbeck. He is a great kid who loves to draw and build with his Lego's and someday wants to be a civil engineer. He writes wonderful stories, mostly about cats! He also loves military history and loves spending time with my dad talking about WWII!
Jordan is going into 3rd grade at Vossbeck. He had a rough start to life, being born with an intestinal disease that almost took him from us several times in the first few years. Long story short--the first four years were pretty rough but you wouldn't be able to tell from looking at him today! He is amazing! He loves being outside and playing baseball and just being a boy! When he grows up he wants to work in a hospital as a child life specialist who helps kids with what they are going through at the hospital...that is if he doesn't make into the major leagues!
I live with my boyfriend, John who is the low boy operator for Boss construction and his daughter who lives with us 1/2 time. Her name is also Jordan so we have some confusing times at our house! She is 11 and going into the 6th grade. She is an amazing basketball player and loves all animals including the 2 dogs, 3 fish tanks full of fish, 2 fair pigs and the pet snake we have at our house!
All in all life is good. I have learned that things don't always turn out the way we planned them but God has a plan and it is always perfect.
I can't wait to see you all again!
